~~duhh~~
You mean 64GB? I don't think SGSII can handle 64GB. I know it can handle up to 32GB only
*
It might be able to, we just need someone to try it out and report back haha. Official spec for 5800 suggested that it could handle up to 16gb but most people, if not all could run a 32gb on it without any problem.

I guess it depends on your device, my frens' ip4 loaded with all games lag a lil bit but not severe. even my own device, i don't feel like it's smooth as before, can see it's losing the "liquid-ness" sometimes when scrolling through menus. Gonna put in at least 16gb soon and see if it improves.

But who want to buy it just for testing. It expensive you know.
*
Lol true, even kingston 32gb class 4 selling for about 300 bucks. I'd rather get the 16gb, more than enough for me.
Personally i don't see why we need so much, it's not like the phone can replace your hardisk or desktop. I've my own storage for my hd music, pictures and stuff. If i were to put it all, 64gb wouldn't be sufficient too. LOL

I9100G updated to 2.3.5 KI1 and rooted, seems battery life worse, unplugged from charger 2 hours, some light surfing. drained 8% battery life
*
For me, battery life still as bad as before. Went to sleep for about 6 hours @100%, dropped 8% when i woke up.
No data no wifi no nothing, just standby.

Sorry if I sound stupid to ask this, but is it fine to charge your phone at night and leave it on till morning?
I always charge around 12 and only unplug in the morning, afaik there's a smart circuit that cuts of the current when battery is fully charged?

Mine used to be like that too. All can do is just wait and hope they release kernels for g model users
*
But does custom roms give you significant improve in battery life? Some people claim that high android os % has nothing to do with battery drain.

Battery drain in G version is really inconsistent. Went to sleep at 2 and when i woke up just now, downed from 64-34%. (About 45maH per minute in contrast of 2maH that i usually getting in standby) That's 20% in 8 hours without data and wifi. BBS was showing screen on ratio of 8% and awake ratio of 30% but no significant wakelock was identified.

Can anyone tell me how to remove superuser? From my readings, all I have to do is unroot the phone and it will be removed?
Planning to send back to SC for the proximity sensor problem.

Anyway, I think all should put behind the issue of different variants available on market now. Why can't we just enjoy the phone and share our knowledge/experience to create better user experience of the phone? Whether G or no G, it is still the mighty SGS2 with no close rivals, period.
It really pains me when seeing someone throwing out words like inferior/cheap to describe the G variant. While it is true that we got it for cheaper price, compared to users who bought the non G version much earlier, but bear in mind that phone prices depreciate faster than ever these days, so it's not entirely true that because it's a G version so it's cheaper. Furthermore, i believe many of us actually bought the G version without knowing that it is a G version, especially when it started coming into the market. (I dare say I'm one of the earliest G set user)
So yea, it's not that we wanted it, seriously.

So guys, please stop comparing the benchmark scores and all. We know whether G or no G, the phone still gives solid performance. So yes, if higher benchmark scores give you a great sense of achievement, you'll end up comparing something that has little to insignificant effect in practical use. That way you'll just keep worrying about your scores getting beaten up instead of enjoying the phone itself (which is the main purpose for us getting this amazing phone)

Finally, my intention of writing this is just to urge all of us to stop the debates that have been going on and on. I assure you that there is absolutely no offensive element here, so please do not start another flaming war. What I'm doing here is merely share my thoughts. I'm open to any opinions though, be it positive of negative. smile.gif

So does it mean that version G cannot customize the rom? What i understand is the non-g is unable to apply on g version. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Any limitation for version G? I really like the white version T__T
*
There is no custom roms for G version YET, but there's high chances of them being rolled out in near future since the non G variant contributes to a significant sales volume, considering some asian countries are getting it too.

Apart from the availability of custom roms, there's no practical limitation, everything is just the same.
I won't even go to the cpu and gpu comparison part. For me it's BS, no offence.
Once again, just get it or you might wanna wait for other super phones that will be made available in couple months of time. But whether non G or G, SGS2 is still an amazing phone and i really can't stress this enough.

Hi,

Just got a Galaxy White today. Wanting to ask, Custom's ROM such as Lightning, are these not supported by i9000G and we have to use any of these 3 only:

XME DZKI1, Stock kerne or CHN ZCKH?

If so, which of these 3 are better in terms of stability and fast?

The rooting link on the first page has the description of i9000. Therefore, does it apply to i9000G as well?
*
I'm on stock KI1, don't see any significant difference between it and the KH4. but do take this with a grain of salt as i have only used KH4 for a day.

But do bear in mind that the 3 that u mentioned are kernels, not roms. read page 1 for differences between rom and kernels.

And yes the rooting method is the same, you just have to make sure that you are flashing the correct kernel to prevent bricking your phone.

Here's a thread where u can find insecure kernels for rooting

Is there any other super phones that will be available in couple months? The latest i know is google nexus prime. Is there any phone released in few months?

I think i will get the white color. I hope once they released custom roms, then i would be very happy :S
*
Sensation XL, Titan, S2 LTE HD and a few more. Check gsmarena for more updates. I believe there are developers that are working on custom roms for G version already. We just have to be patient. I however have no intention to move on to customs.

anyone have this problems ?

i don't quite get what you mean about the data connection part. Did u mean battery life is better on KH4 modem? Battery life over one day is impressive but i see your phone was awake quite alot? As for the wakelocks, are those all or there's more below? After rooted and using tb to freeze some apps i kind of get better battery life, as in i don't see that much of awake time when my screen is off. But the number of wake locks did not reduce, still getting like 30+ but most of them just lasted for few seconds so i guess it's okay. Really don't have the time to crack my head to look into it. =/

just a thought of mine, it will be helpful if we include a list of service centres where it is possible to claim warranty succesfully (rooted device, of coz) that way it saves all the worries of imei being blacklisted biggrin.gif
