yeah. samsung bought over vlingo and using it as the basis for the voice to text/ text to speech function. and vlingo requires network to function doh.gif
*
Seriously, you guys ACTUALLY use voice commands? I ONLY use it in Translator, and even when I DO use it I tend to prefer Google's own voice recog vs Vlingo's. Even then recog rate is about what, 50-60% at best.

In all seriousness, I wonder if Siri's gonna be any better.

I was btowsing for user reviews on the galaxy s2 to decide if i should wait for prime. Currently on iphone 4 so i want the next purchase to be future proof for a whule. Anyway did not realise no post count here. I will look into this immediately
*
Yes. Please. We actually talk about important stuff over here like Chuck Norris and Asses lol.

And future proof? The SGS2 and it's multitude of mods and accessories is plenty future proof, unless you NEED a higher density screen, and better Sound Quality (DAC is crap on the SGS2, but again, once anybody whips out USB audio out -> external DAC -> moot point).

Anyhow, found a pretty interesting piece of info: seems one of those sliding BT minikeyboards for the I Pun can fit the SGS2.

For those with HWKB tendencies would prolly like one of these.

I am now in discussion with rbr. If the post count comes back first thing im doing is immediate 24 hour vacation for any and all spam. So better start cleaning up your act now
*
Roger, but please be clear cut over what constitutes as spam, and punish repeat offenders who ONLY seem to SPAM without contributing anything to the thread.

Occasional virtual canned ham is good for one's health. Ask Siri (oh this is gonna be so a meme lol) if you don't believe me.

IMHO anyway.

Back on track, I'm now at 7+hrs with 4 hour screen on time and 20% juice left in the spider-foots. So, not as good as the Momax Expowers, but considering it's only a quarter of the price, it's good enough.

Battery cover is heaven though compared to the Momax one. A shame the Momax batt needs to use it's own (not so good) cover.

Next gaji, trying out the Mugen.

What is the worst case scenario regarding battery life? Like the iPhone 4? iPhone 4 with live widgets I have like 60-40% left by lunch time (1pm) from 7am stop charging
*
Worse case? Daily about 4-5 hours active usage screen on time, dead in 12 hours. With an extended 2700mah batt mind you.

Lotsa stuff running, but no facebook or twitter (BB does this), but Social Hub is tied to Facebook for phonebook intergration. Email push (idle IMAP with kaiten mail), no notification. No live widgets except one attached to JustReader RSS and one for Best Apps Market (manual update). Whatsapp, viber constantly on. Internet auto off with screen lock with Tasker. Widgetlocker custom lockscreen.

Running Villainrom 2.4.2 + Siyah 1.7.8, UnderVolted/Clocked.

@destex: I thought I was the only one who could see that lol. Very cool effect really.

well SGS2 is for those who like to tweak tweak n customize customize.... for me i need a FULL-FEATURED browser o a phone with no limitations

Iphone 4S does pack an imba camera plus everything-that-works software with some new added features(only apple knows 'innovation' if u know what i mean). So i guess it will still sell given da market base and certainly da unfounded hype. well for upgraders, just make sure u slap one big "this is Iphone4S" sticker on ur iphone. lol

prime o prime - i call it Android prime lah. will be at no.1 when released. no doubt bout it. if u like it buy it simple as that. but prime o prime does not come with a hype. so ppl will asking u , "what phone is this? why didnt u buy da new iphone? lol

in the end it zomgly comes down to personal perference.
*
True. But for some unknown reason, at least amongst my relatives, they take a look at my phone and go "that's the new Samsung Galaxy right?".

Seems the Sammie hype machine has been working overtime around my parts (Shah Alam/KL).

Though the Prime will undoubtedly be special. Special enough for me to want it badly even without setting my eyes on it yet.

Oct 11 will be a very hard day for me tho, as unlike with the SGS2 (I lost my i4 + it was my kutu month) or even my Torch (family switching to BB lol), there will be no way in hell I can justify buying the Prime.

BTW, anybody have any idea how much battery drain the window animations are causing? Just turned them on again and actually liking the swish swish. Not worth it though if it's a massive battery drainer.

*
You might have heard right. Even the i9100g section of XDA is filled with... wait for it... Malaysians mostly.

We exhausted our allocated Exynos supply IMHO. I've already seen 3 people using the SGS2 in my school alone (in Kuala freakin Lipis woi), with nary an iPhone in sight.

Samsung hyped this one right, really.

Afaik there's no pink spot issue on G set. But we do have a serious bug/hardware defect with the proximity sensor which turns on randomly. And hell yes it's draining battery.
*
Interesting, anyhows, G root should come soon enough, and really, ROMs all don't really matter much, you only really NEED root and TB.

Ya lor. Keep on asking whether Siri can be used on the older phone. Stupid fruity. Talk big but don't know anything about their phone internal spec ~~duhh~~
*
I never knew voice recog NEEDED such heavy overhead that it NEEDS the i4S specs to run. Vilingo worked fine on my old Nokia 5800 lol.

Google voice search too. Siri must be... wait for it... magical.

But really guys, never argue specs with iFans. It's just not their game any more lol.

download manga using mangawatcher, gameloft games sd files, hd games sd files, music, titanium backups, instantly my 32GB microsd filled, seriously now i'm checking out the 64GB even my internal memory nearly full, a few HD games, gameloft games that cant move to external, gps maps and cwm backup and a few roms/kernals/modems = FULL

heck i havent even put in any videos or ps1 roms to play!
*
Don't even start on emus. I only have 2 games (plus Baldur's Gate, but let's not even go there) and my internal drive is nearly full. Had to delete stuff from my paltry 8GB msd too.

Plus I only have space for 1 CWM backup. Sad eh.

yeah i think the problem come from black TMĀ  router coz mine also like that...

but never try Dlink router...

going to call servis center and request to change to dlink router..
*
Every time I ask for a Dlink, they tell me it's not in stock.

In the end I ended up using my old belkin as a wifi gateway lol.

Oh, and now Siyah is giving me weird random lockups, really bad ones that require battery pulls. Interesting. Hopefully this gets fixed in the next alpha because I actually like the kernel.

Until then it's back to good old Ninpo 2.0.5 for me.

Ladies and gents, Estocs are here. Will process soon.

Told ya guys korean post is quick.

Anyhow, just passed 4 hours with 80% still remaining on Ninpo 2.0.5, all while remaining ROCK stable. Will hold going back to Siyah for a while, see how it develops first (though I do like it a lot, just not stable enough for daily heavy use IMHO... yet).

And yes, the Prime specs is a little... underwhelming, besides the screen of course. I mean, 5MP? Hopefully Samsung knows better and releases an international version with a better camera (or at least make sure that 5MPer is a BSI unit). Or release the international Galaxy S HD soon instead.

Or else, Oct is gonna be a pretty dull month indeed.

Either way, our SGS2s are prolly still gonna be competitive as a flagship well into 2012 it seems, even WITH our... ehem... mid-res screens.

Its okay botak. Its just an initial warning for me to keep track also who i alresdy gave initial warning so next tike can give vacation. After 3 months itll automatically disappear.

I just saw the s2 white and its beautiful! Almost enough to make me give up waiting for prime. But it only has the g version of the s2 =(
*
AP should have non-G ver, but yeah, waiting for official Prime announcement seems prudent, even if Samsung leaks have proven solid in the past so far.

wonder will they sell the cover only or not.....
*
Korean ver battery is fine, cover is cacat. Get a proper international ver 2000mah batt and you can use the korean batt with it as spare no prob.

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Oct 7 2011, 01:45 AM)
You can ask or PM Eiraku. He's a pro with all type of SGSII battery and accessories.
*
Where got pro, normal only.

But the 2000mah ori Samsung extended batts ARE hard to find nowadays, most stock is in the Slavic countries. New shipment has yet to reach other places, Malaysia included.

Will check my usual place this weekend if got stock.

QUOTE(nomoredfox @ Oct 7 2011, 08:18 AM)
Do you mind sharing some pictures when in the phone.....

I saw shop selling RM139 for the 2000mAh batt...
some say rm250... rclxub.gif
*
200 below acceptable, considering how hard it is to get one (make sure it's ori Samsung with battery cover however). Normal price should be around 150.

@yehlai: Siyah zips through CWM, tars through Odin or DarkyTools2. Some people said that tars can be used with CWM too, however have not tested.
