Lol, the value is simply per 100% lar. If your display eats 60%, and you have nothing else running, what do you think will eat the other 40%. Of course whatever is running in the background as part of the OS aka AOS.

More stuff you have running, or the more stuff YOU HAVE RUN during the time you spend unplugged, the less time is allocated to AOS as a result. Example on Bugeca's screenie above.

Want lower AOS values? Use more stuff on your SGS2 lah.

About AOS killing battery life, dun worry, wakelocks are the one responsible for idle battery drain. AOS includes wakelocking processes, but it also includes normal, non WL processes so you can't really take it as an indication of battery drain.

Just get betterbatterystats and watch for wakelocks.

Hi, so meaning , if possible, buy one without the g, rite? If not dont buy at all. Im a bb user and has been for the pasr 4 - 5 years and am insterested in an android phone cause i just angkat a sgt 10.1( which is awesome i tell u ). So i wanna get an android phone so i can make it sync with my tab. Also my current bb torch, has a battery problem. Saw the sg2, it was super light and awesome. So wat say you?? Keep with wat i hav or change my phone or wait until next month or december cause most probably ice cream will be avail by then but then i am sure , sg2 will get the update.
*
If you think the torch has a battery problem, you'll think the SGS2 is leaking. Trust me, the Torch is a good enough companion to the GTab10, you just need a new batt. Unless you don't plan to run around with the GTab.

I run both, you see. And at the end of the day, my Torch will have a helluva lot more batt left. My friend on the other hand has both the GTab10 and the SGS2, now he's planning to sell his Tab lol due to the fact that his SGS2 can already do 90% of what his tab does.

Plus, notifications seem to always be faster and more reliable on the BB, even if the apps all suck. Not that I'm steering you away from getting an Android phone, mind you, it's just that you already have a GTab and getting both is hugely redundant (almost as redundant as the iPhone + iPad combo, but Apple smartly made the iPad incapable of certain things so that the iPhone would complement it - which is fraud really but that's an entirely different story).

If you STILL want an Android phone, wait for the Prime. It's only a few months away after all.

Freaking heavy batt life test for the Momax complete. 6 hours with 5 hours screen on, video streaming, stuff downloading time.

Yes, xScope eats battery like no tomorrow. Really.

How to check whether the phone is original or AP ?
The last time I got my Desire HD to tell the difference was just the code they provide for GPS only for original.
Also do I have to register for the warranty  or none needed ?

Check for SME stickers inside, on the phone and Battery.

@rain: No H as you're only running HSPA down with that mode, no? The indicator only goes to H if you're running HSPA for both down and up (HSDPA/HSUPA).

@antt00: Dual core script? I think I heard about that before, does it really work? I know the chips already regulate themselves well enough alone.

Also, I think I'm gonna need the big Yaobao. I'm having electrical issues at my place in Lipis lately, the backup power would be useful for my army of USB fans.

hi,

new SGS2 here, anyone used 3500mah battery please share u experience with me, i got melkco case, can it fix with my melkco case coz i know 3500mah abit thick compare to 1650mah and it came with own back case.

thanks ya.

*
No, it WILL not fit. You need bumpers for these types of extended batts. The Samsung Ori 2000mah diff story one.

@rain: What I mean is, once you turned HSUPA off (which was what you did), the H will no longer show as you are NOT running H both ways any more. Only one way (down).

My personal opinion on extended battery's:

I would much rather buy an external power bank that can also charge up my other phones and mp3 players than invest in a huge-ass battery for my <9 mm thick phone...

Under maximum heavy use, the phone can still last more than 3 hours, which is definitely longer than the period that we are separated from the power pack.....and during that time of usage, we can enjoy our thin phone.

Not to mention that the power banks are so much cheaper than the phone battery's, and have multiple uses...

And lets face it, we don't only have 1 electronic device with us, most of us have walkmans/ ipods which can also be charged from a power bank.

Oranges to apples.

I used to think like that too. But the fact is my Momaxes are only a little bit more exp then Yaobao packs, so the issue of cost becomes a moot point.

Also, juggling power packs to charge my devices while walking around is NOT fun. Besides, the SGS2 is TOO thin for me to begin with lol.

But still, oranges to apples. I have an electrical issue at my house right now so I actually MISS my USB powerpacks, as they could very well be used to power my USB fans to help me sleep. So I do concur with the multiple use theory.

I know you're one of the few who jumped time the s2 from the N900.

So, overclockedyour s2 yet? I personally don't see the need to pump more juice into the device seeing it's already quite powerful enough.... but seeing my glu games running like butter really is tempting... pumped it up to 1.6ghz and will see how long before the battery dies on me... haha

For some unknown reason, no, I haven't. I UNDERclock and UNDERvolt (I'm running 200-1000 most times, with -75mv UV across the board), but I've never gone over. Never really felt the need to lol.

Even with my N900 I was conservative what, always running 500-900, never really breaking 1k (because back then the A8 needed the extra push to begin with lol).

Alright guys, I-Day tomorrow (actually, Wed our time). And 8 more days to N-Day. It's a wonderful time to be alive in Gadgetland.

Battery lifespan should be more then 2-3 years, unfortunately it's the USB ports that break first before the battery loses charge. Most of my packs have loose USB ports now, after 2+ years, my oldest pack even has trouble charging ANYTHING due to the ports being too loose.

Still no electricity where I am. Finally testing my Spider-Foot extended batteries out of sheer necessity.

I'm liking the cover, shame they don't work with the superior Momax Expowers (which has crap battery doors really). I wonder if the Mugen has a battery door that will fit the expower.

The Droidax pack? I'm looking into it, but as always there must be sufficient interest (as I don't run an actual business).

5-6 people pm me with interest is enough edi.

Though I'm actually waiting for the Powerskin pack for our SGS2 - I have protective film on my SGS2 (amongst other things lol) and hard packs don't usually fit well due to the film getting in the way (which broke my old Samsung pack). The PS will be silicone/rubber based so it will less of a problem.

Still waiting for the guy to post up reviews though.
I've a few others in my mind : Ori samsung batt cover which requires import (1300maH)
                                            Momax ex (2700)
                                            Mugen (3200)

Anyway, I the first with interest biggrin.gif

I've used 2 of the ones in he list (the Momax and the Samsung Pack) the Samsung Battery Pack ain't worth the price. And you don't have to even import, it's available locally.

The Droidax is better value, especially taking into account it has the all important power button.

The Momax is fine and has FULL rated capacity (as tested by Tids2k), but batt cover is crap. The Mugen feels hella expensive in comparison to the Momax, especially as the Mugen hasn't been tested for full true capacity yet.

Ninpo's been gone for too long. Moving on to Siyah Kernel right now, init.d tweaks feel fun.

Also testing my Spider-Foot/Obostore extended batts, hopefully they last a while as I STILL don't have electricity.

3 advices on siyah kernel,
1) Check if you still have root.
2) If your rom have UV script make sure it matches siyah cpu steps. Setcpu is fine.
3) Don't use 100mhz if its unstable on your device.
*
1) Root's fine.
2) Running VR so it's just Deodexed stock, no scripts.
3) Running 200-1000, conservative ondemand (conservo would have FCed everything lol, and I don't trust smartass for my life), with profiles. Not planning to run 100... yet. UVed, but never had problems with Nymph before.

Apps FCing so far is Tapatalk and... uhm... Tapatalk. Seems Tapatalk in Siyah HATES not having an internet connection. Nothing else giving me troubles yet, typing lag I had in Nymph 2.0.5 (also Update 1 based) is GONE!. Re-enabled androidlogger (locker apps need it weh) and everything's running fine and dandy so far (except for the Tapatalk FCs).

Noice.

Now checking if the 1000ma charging script will blow my battery out. Glas + Charging is no problemo for Siyah so far (only reason why I stuck with Nymph, besides his humour of course).

Discussed before. Yes it will not work on KI3 for some reason.

My advice for those with a few cents to spare, buy Cerebrus. For a few extra bucks you get features Dive can't even touch (like taking pictures of the idiot who stole your phone using the front camera, remotely).

Really, really cool stuff. Plus tracking is effing fast compared to Dive.

But still, Dive is free.

Im loving this dual core script! Standby batt life is so much better now compared previously. And i also found out what program is giving me wakelocks, its the maps app doh.gif i froze maps, leave phone standby 3 hrs,no drop(rclxm9.gif) then i defrost in agn,at night drain 10%+ doh.gif is there anyway to downgrade maps? Cuz on old maps no such prob
*
Sure, google for the old navigation enabled Onwhere versions, install, and detach Maps from market using TB (to prevent upgrades).

Or you can turn off AGPS (Use Wireless Networks under location settings), seems to help but will increase initial GPS lock time by a lot.

On my side, went to sleep with 5% left on the momax (yes, five percent, told you we got no electricity here), woke up and suddenly it was 15%.

Kinetic self-charging?doh.gif doh.gif

I know it's just the Samsung battery logger being a total idiot with ex-cap batteries, but it was funneh nonetheless.

What modem you using (both for the phone and unifi)? To check phone baseband/modem go to settings -> about phone -> baseband version and check the last 3 digits (KE2 or KG2 or KH3).

For the record my SGS2 has had no problems OVER WIFI NETWORKS I HAVE CONTROL OVER (aka, ones I can fiddle around with channels and stuff). Public wifi has been ok so far, with some failures over certain ones (like some Starbucks).
