I'm undervolting but barely. I'm trying to undervolt with ninpo now and see if the results are the same. But as I can remember, ninpo was just fine before. If it shows the same, I'll revert to default voltages.

Not using 100MHz. I don't really see any real difference between the governors.I'm sure there is a difference slightly but not noticeable to me.

Added on October 7, 2011, 9:41 am

I didn't get forced closes immediately after flashing it. After 2-3 days then it shows signs of freezing... I undervolt too... that could be another issue too but I don't go way low... just a Tad lower than the default voltages
*
Same results. Tried Ondemand with profiles, Interactivex/SmartassV2 w/o profile and I got about the same thing. Even in terms of UV, whatever I set in SetCPU + Ninpo is -25mv below normal to begin with (not shown due to SetCPU + Ninpo bug), so real reason my Siyah couldn't run under the same settings (unless it too is pre-UVed, at lower values then Ninpo).

Guess Siyah just hates former N900 converts lol. Or it has issues with some of it's init.d scripts.

But really, 1 day uptime with Ninpo 2.0.5, no force closes, no reboots, no freezes or anything. I could bearly go past 5 hours without something happening while using Siyah (and I gave it a few days too as I really liked the responsiveness).

Not to say it was a bad kernel though, it was responsive and fun. Just not stable, at least not for me.

Guess it's either a device or ROM/software compatibility thing, some of my apks and configs are after all modded manually. Running Villain 2.4.2 (GB 2.3.4) BTW, feel no need to run up to 2.3.5 at all, yet.

Will wait for the next non-alpha/beta Siyah release and see if it gets more stable. For me.

TB data backup is generally solid, but some apps do provide the option to save data to external SD. Do this too if you have doubts.

Tested CM7, works crap with my SGP Glas (no kernel touchscreen fix)... Back to VR2.4.2 and Ninpo 2.0.5.

Thankfully we have NAND backups lol.

Got your address and sent immediately. Should be in your hands in a couple of days. For everybody else on the first bulk, I've sent your stuff yesterday/today already (posto was out of post packets yesterday, could only send a few). But everything should arrive well by this week.

Crap, I HATE the fact that I have no car nowadays, so hard to move around - pos office asso have to tumpang2 (and public transport? Where got here in lipis). Reccomendations for a good new/used ride around 100k?

Also, besides not having the touchscreen fix, CM7.1 feels very nice. Try it lah guys.

So I can read some files from my pendrive in my S2?

Yes I have a few left and yes you can read pendrives. I've been doing it for a while now (reading and writing to pendrives). As long as the drive is NOT in NTFS you'll be fine.

Hi Eiraku, can give me CM7 url? I wanna flash it. Just flash to Criskelo's rom, comparing to my i9000 galaxy with Galnet MIUI Chameleon, seems not much faster only. sad.gif smoothness not as good as MIUI....

Anyone using Galnet Chameleon MIUI for S2?

Forgot edi the url. Just google for the Cyanogen website, we're OFFICIALLY supported now what.

yeah very fancy, but those live interactive widgets r killing my battery life. bought it and now feel like freaking wasting my money. still prefer TW to SPB even though my N97 last time is well equipped wif SPB shell.
to make the widget smaller, resize it in TW launcher. press n hold it, then you will c the option to resize it. another reason to convince me that TW is better  laugh.gif

I'm sticking with ADW. Fast and customizable as heck. Got some 3D effects too, although not too taxing on the juice.

Lol, I FINALLY got a kernel WITH touchscreen fix working with CM7. But the fonts were pissing me off -> font installer -> hard crash -> reboot failure. Cam all working fine for me BTW. Just the god forsaken fonts (I came from Ubuntu Titling Bold for everything.

Crap, I really don't have time to play around and set up stuff all over again. One more try, and if things STILL go wrong I'm postponing my CM7 adventure to the Depavalli hols. STILL need my phone to function 100% to be playing around with it too much,

Also, to the guys posting about the pure performance of "the 800mhz dual core" and "the harmony of iOS", please, try to mount a USB pen drive to OR bluetooth stuff from OR adjust processor voltages on OR EVEN run an alternative browser on your magical fruit, then come back here, can or not?

Cannot? Go back to your mindless (yet "beautiful") games and stop trying to play with adults here trying to do actual work, hmm?

Seldom use pendrives, might lose easily or worse, precious data may end up in wrong eyes.
Wld prefer to use cloud solution like dropbox, skydrive and icloud.

Bluetooth stuff? Ditto.

Adjust proc voltage? Similan dun have a geeky hobby so why wanna do that?
Performance? Already smoked king of droids.
Battery life? Ip4s can achieve more with less, thus saving battery.
No need to go thru all the trouble.

Alternative browser? Safari is already excellent. Why waste time with others?
Prefer to make more productive use of similan's precious time.
*
That, in itself, has summed up your attitude towards any smartphone. "The iPhone is already excellent. Why waste time with others."

I have no bone to pick with you, as nothing I CAN say can make you do/think/feel anything. Have fun with your fruit phone, while I'll have fun with mine.

Okay, in between all this bashing I wanna add some stuff I'm finding out about CM7.

The Good:

1. Haptics in everything - VKB, linkies, menu items. THIS IS HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE SAMMY. Batt guzzler for sure, but it's customizable anyway.

2. Crazy system customizations - Theme picker, CM settings... customizable like heck weh. Plus the long press volume hack is built in. Hurrah.

3. Everything feels crazy smooth - Especially with Syiah 2.0 kernel. No lag no nothing.

4. 2G/3G switch - very useful, can be setup through tasker too.

5. Screen colour - actually looks nice w/o Mdinie tweaking.

6. Built in CPU management - no UV/OC, but is serviceable.

The Bad:

1. No touch focus in cam - sad really, but third party apps make up for the loss.

2. Limited kernel choices - So, stock CM7 or Siyah 2.0. Lol.

3. Some software incompatibilities - Kaiten just FCed on me. Sigh.

4. No smart dial in dialer - Ugh, this one is arguably not essential in the grand scheme of things, but I NEED it.

5. No REAL orange-black themes - One semi orange, and one neon orange, yes, but not the shade of orange I was looking for.

The Ugly:

1. The fonts - MY EYES MY EYES OH MY GOD! But seriously, even coming from Samsung's "sub-par" text rendering, everything just looks horribly, horribly wrong. Even more so because it's not running my favourite Ubuntu Titling Bold ExSmall.

So, how has the experience been so far? Entertaining, although I'm going back to VR2.4.2 + Ninpo 2.0.5 because however customizable CM7 is, right now it's not really that much "better" then modded stock. Leaner, yes, but some the "stuff" Samsung dumped into the stock ROM is ACTUALLY quite useful (smart dialing, touch to focus... to name a few).

All things considered, anyway.

Maybe next time, CM. Once you sorted out that font hinting thing and touch to focus. Or maybe I should try one of those CM7 hybrids running the Samsung Framework.

good review here...

my phone tends to be very hot ( i meant compare with batista's rom.)

dun know why it charge up battery slow as well.....

flash siyah 2.0 will reduce the heat?
*
Yeah, I notice my phone getting needlessly hot too. Only surfing and adjusting settings also, even on Siyah. I DID underclock to 1000-200, as I always do too, and ran Smartassv2. It still felt kinda hot.

Battery was charging fine for me, but I was running Siyah with mods (faster charging), maybe that's also why my phone felt kinda hot.

@musicforlife: Browser was OK, not sure if it was HW accelerated though. I ran to Xscope as soon as I could.

@Lineage: I PMed gokhanmoral personally for it, suggest you do the same if you wanna test it for CM7. He needs some help testing the USB connection in CM7 with his kernel right now.

As for the Ubuntu font, I found it in some obscure android flipfont thread. Not sure if I still have the APK though.

Yes, in stable build 7.1.0, it works like charm.

I believe the download link on CM7 page is SLOW! Took me 3 hours on Unifi. So on my siggy has Multiupload if you want to try.  rclxms.gif

Uhm, it took me 15mins on 3G. Maybe it's just me. But agreed a multiup is always better.

He prolly means the non standard crap like emoticons and "BBM".

It's non standard. So IINM, no. That being said, some modded BBs can't properly diaplay them either.

I have always hated CM7 phone and camera. Had to use alternative from market last time. One of the main reason I have not yet flash CM7. Have you tried pushing TW phone/contact/camera into cm7 to see if it works.
*
Nope, doesn't work. It needs the Samsung framework. I'm now hoping that it goes cross-plat: either the CM7 tweaks get ported to TouchWiz ROMs, or the framework goes to CM7.

Also, the overscroll bounce in CM7 feels really really weird.
