Try googling for guides to flash modem files through ODIN and get at least KE4. KF2 is fine too.

Personally I'm running KH3 no problems.

thanks for the feedback, but for a gamer, knowing that something as important as gpu/cpu being replaced by an inferior version kinda 'potong stim'.

i'll wait and see what other stuff lies on the horizon.

Oct 11, 720p HD SAMOLED+.

The horizon is close really.

got alot games coming out this coming months, need to split some money there as well.

Plus, in actuallity, if you're not an uber spec geek, the SGS2 with battery mods (cause it farkin dies so fast) should suffice til, say, 2013 at least. It's that good a package.

Unless the screen dies in a year, cause you know, it's organic and shite. Lol.

well, even Nexus Prime oso will use the "organic" SAMOLED+ :-/
*
Higher reso = higher PPI = more of the crazy organic buggers so they'll take longer to die off.

Theoretically anyway lol. Plus Sammie should have come up with a fancy trick or two to keep the blue ones (the ones that are the most unhealty) alive longer by then.

Truth be known, the lifespan of OLEDs is really up to speculation as even the oldest AMOLED panels would only be a few years old by now.

For me, if they stick a Wolfson DAC in the Prime, I'll come running, no questions asked.

A bit off rail but I'm finding Siyah to be really, really responsive and snappy. Very good indeed.

anyone noe how to mod notification bar background ?
using Purple Vortex theme , dont kinda like the vortex notification background image

Uot Kitchen, Metamorph/Ninjamorph or VillainThemes.

VT, contrary to the name, is ROM-agnostic, it doesn't care what ROM you use it with (as long as it's not AOSP).

Personally, I use Ninjamorph to extract the two themes I want to edit/mod/mix and use Metamorph to reinsert. Works wonderfully and is totally ROM-agnostic as long as you stick to Samsung Framework (and not AOSP) based ROMs. PLUS, if I only need to mix stuff or tweak colours, I don't even need a computer.

Also, if you know what's what, you can even extract SOME things from a Droid theme (or anything else HDPI/800x640 reso) and use it with your SGS2 (I've done it before), though I'm not responsible if you break anything.

All the methods outlined above needs quite a lot of reading and self experimentation though. Good luck.

Again, read, read and backup frequently.

Google (and CWM) is your best friend.

@retsmot: Also, full library of PS1, GB, SNES and N64 games in your pocket with to option to pipe it out through HDMI.

Have fun.

What's your heat like when that happens? Above 70-80 I have similar problems with bluetooth.

How did I get to that point? I was using my SGS2 as a web radio streamer + bluetooth + googlemaps + GPS + full brightness locked + sun shining onto it without any shade + no UC/UV to minimize heat. Safe to say it wasn't a smart move.

GBA? no way lol. You might as well use fpse and play ps1 games instead laugh.gif actually i find the current android games's graphics way nicer than PS1 games, especially ones from gameloft they're worth the huge ass space they take to run. if you prefer RPG games you can play Final fantasy using PS1 or you can get Spectral Souls for RM45 some say it's the best RPG in Android ONLY for android  brows.gif

Radio streamer -> Digitally Imported Radio. Like spotify but free (paid, HQ options available) and for trance heads. Now I just use my BB bcoz Maxis does not (or cannot lol) meter prepaid BIS usage (and the BB DI app is smart enough to give the option of BIS streaming, yum. Otherwise, on my SGS2, DI = quick quota death).

4 hours to go before iSheepMania!

@Shizuru: Fried my hands trying to get the scalding battery out and trying to cool the whole shebang WHILE driving. Not fun.

@hahaboy: No choice, wait for root kernel, BUY TB and freeze sum wakelockin mofos.

@TLDG: Hmm, maybe you DO have HW issues. Before that, you UVed? UVing does all sorts of weird stuff sometimes (I STILL think UVing killed my N900's eMMC).

When moving from a 2.3.4 to 2.3.5 or from one rom to another full wiped rom.

after you backup using Titanium Backup do you:

1. restore all apps + data

or

2. restore all apps + all system data

please guide 1 or 2?

*
Ugh, this is hard. Because Google ALSO gives the "HANDY" option of redownloading everything.

For me, after wipe, reinstall everything using Google's option (manually reinstall stuff it misses) and restore all data + all system data.

1 or 2 FEELS dangerous as it might restore 2.3.4 system apps with it (which will result in FC Happy Hour, which I already ran into once, going from VR1.4 to VR2.4.2).

Or it might not. If it's smart enough to skip older vers (it might have the option to do so).

Noice, but CM7 no thanks for now, still not stable enough for day to day use. Sticking with TW ROMs but others can try.

Galnet MIUI mixes both TW and AOSP MIUI so might just be the ticket for people who wanna try out the AOSP way. Less things going wrong, and you can use your own kernels too IINM.

iPhone. For. Ass.

Seriously, Tim Cook? Even iEngadget is disappointed.

Roll out the Nexus Prime Sammie, there's nothing close to compare from the fruit camp.

That being said, now I understand why LG was cut from the Googlephone race. With their penchant of naming things "Optimus", an "Optimus Prime" would have been a lawsuit trap lol.

18 months and that's all they could come up with?! We don't even need S3 to mop the floor with the iPhone 4S.

I'm really glad I didn't wait for it and switched to S2.
*
Ditto. I don't even HAVE to go to the Prime to "keep up". Although I might just to further piss "them" off. Even if they will still wax lyrics about how the hardware doesn't matter and how software rules the day... when they (STILL) can't even do USB Mass transfers without iTunes and/or JB.

Just lol.

Android is catching up, iFags, on whatever it is you (STILL) think we're lacking. AND FAST.

And we have had voice control for years, so stuff Siri. Notification tray? Blergh.

Only advantage the 4S has over the SGS2 is the same as with the 4 - Better SQ (Wolfson DAC for sho), better camera (8MP BSI with quality optics, gets no better on a phone), Air Video and Cameramatic/Camera+ (why in God's name isn't there any PROPER alternatives on Android?).

Which is to say, the i4S improved very little in reality over the 4. Sad, Apple, just sad.

Hey guys, I tried opening the gallery and wanted to edit a picture from the gallery. It froze for a few seconds and forced close. I can do anything else with the picture shy of editing it.

What could be causing it? Rom? Kernel?
I'm on touch extreme xwki4 and ninpo 2.1.3.

Prolly ROM. You still have the Photo Editor app in your ROM? I'm on VR2.4.2 + Siyah 1.7.8 no issues whatsoever.

Lol, now play nice boys and girls. Don't be mean to the fruit people. They're juat sad their new phones "untuk buntut" (4s).

Seriously Apple. And I thought the Incredible Ass (ooops, S) was bad enough. Disappointing spec bump aside, naming it the iPhone 4+/4 Plus would have been far better.

Or caliing it the 4 to the power of 2 (4 squared - I can't find the small 2 symbol) due to the dual core proc would have been clever.

Truth be known, I have nothing much against the iPhone. It's an OK platform. Just that Apple's Orwellian control policies are really a PITA.
