Hey guys,

The 9 coins set is NOT SOLD by Perth Mint.
It is MINTED by Perth Mint for the chinese market.

So forget about looking for it in the Perth mint site.

i understand the original price is about 650 euros if you can get them
direct from the chinese dealer.
*
650 eur is the price of main distributor to dealer or retail price to public ?

If we get the stock from retailer, the price should add another 20-40% profit margin or maybe even more. I am trying to find source to import this set, the cost to import is about 4k including tax and shipping. If I required 25% profit, my asking price will be RM5k. If no competitor, the price will only be higher. haha. I think the price is reasonable ,cos ebay seller asking for USD2298 and only less than 3 sets available. So, i think rm6K still cheap.

As I know, most of the sets were bought by china ppl, considering that the mintage is only 20k. Look at the price of previous year panda, if china dealers are controlling the price, it is not uncommon if the price double or triple of 6k in 2012. Silver coin with mintage of 20k only (considered very rare) , special design, theme (next year is dragon year), exclusive for china market, i think above reasons will push the price of 9 coin set much higher in coming 2012 dragon year.

i believe the price is renminbi 6680, but you have to include tax and shipping. But they don't want to ship oversea unless you can find someone to bring the sets back, otherwise, you can not get that price.

Last month, many ebay australia sellers selling rolls of 1oz dragon at average 80AUD (around rm250) per pcs, But most of them only ship within australia.

1 oz dragon got 300k mintage. This 9 coin sets got 20k mintage only. Waiting someone selling cheap, but i think it is not likely. When you see the ebay price is USD2298, no reseller will sell significantly lower than that price. haha.

Hey guys,

I'm going to china next weekend, hong kong and shen zhen, any one knows where I can get the 9 coin set? If I can, I will buy them and send to you from china (I don't want to carry in and kena TAX till I die) so if you guys are ready to pay RM 6k for each set, I will go and buy on your behalf.

Provided I can find the seller there and the coins there. Having me there is more trustworthy then depending on some china people, not all, but some. smile.gif

So if you guys are interested, let me know your ideas o.k? like where to buy, send by DHL or slow post, or you want me to carry it back at higher price due to tax etc...

chef

PS Just to add, whoever can point me to the best and most reliable source (besides the china mint outlet) with a good price, I think it's only fair you get some kind of discount, say 20%? smile.gif

Anyway, if anyone thinks it's a bad idea, don't flame me o.k? Just offering a service with my free time during the trip.

chef, Is your price negotiatble ? Can you order for me for 4k? Cos you no need to pay the tax. China ems don't allow to insure the international parcel. But if you are ok, i can bear the risk.

Hey SGKSY,

you mentioned that RM 6k is cheap in one of your post, but you only want to pay RM 4k for the item which cost about RM 3k plus? It's too much risk, even if you are o.k. with china post, if the thing gets lost, I don't think I will feel comfortable.

Anyway, let's based on the cheap price of RM 6k for this discussion, shall we? biggrin.gif

i got my own source, but he also no stock at this moment. he also not sure when the next batch of stock will arrive. My cost to ship to malaysia is around 4k, if kena tax, will be 4.6k. If there are many competittors in malaysia, i will only resell for 5k or 5.2k. If no competitor, i will ask for 6k.

If you buy and bring into malaysia, you can ask for 6k lah, cos you take the risk and pay the tax. But you send the package in china, no tax , no risk, still ask for 6k ? If like that, i rather wait my supplier stock to arrive......

Sorry for interrupting your post.

Hi all, I'm new to this. Been reading and reading and reading, gonna start investing soon.

Just a couple of questions:

1) How liquid is silver? Banks usually always buy your gold, but when the price of silver increases, how would you make a profit out of it? Who do you people sell it off to (particularly if wanna sell large quantities).

2) Mostly physical silver mentioned here. Anyone here trading silver ETFs?

I joined the fb group but still haven't been accepted. Hope to get to know all of you better soon.

Thanks

Hi Desvaro,

1) There are a few ways you can liquidate your silver. One is to sell it yourself via internet, ie FB groups (there are a few FB groups for silver investors), forums, eBay, mudah.com, etc. This way you can get the most value out of your silver.

Another way is to sell to the dealer you bought your silver from. Be prepared for a spread of 10-15%. Spread % for silver is higher because of its relatively lower value as compared to gold. I'm sure there will be dealers/buyers who can absorb all your silver if you sell at spot price.

2) If you read through from pages 1-58, there were several mentions about ETF and other paper products, very good insights about physical vs paper. The reason many of us go for physical is that we want to exchange our paper money with the real money, in other words, to get away from paper. Furthermore, with physical, we get to touch, hold, and appreciate the beauty of the real money. That's why the dragons are such hot topics here recently smile.gif

Hey, no problem, this is a forum, we share our thoughts.

At least I know RM 6k there will be no takers.... so far.

And Like all sellers here, if I am the one sending the package and it got lost enroute, are you saying it's o.k. to push all responsibility to the buyer and no need to resend another one or compensate him? Wouldn't that spoil my reputation?

Maybe there are takers but in SLS, but you are right that if the package goes missing even if the buyer says he will bear the loses, somehow complications will arise from it. 6k is not a small amount don't think one can just treat it as a lost investment.

Just my 2 cents.

Dear All,
After 5 weeks involvement in LY forum, I reckoned the best strategy is become Long Term Investor in Lowyat (Buy) and Short Term Trader (Sell) in SLS for quick cash. Forget about selling back to seller with 15% discount from market price.

More Silverian traders please! If you sell and make a profit, you will spread the silver story wide, and that will generate demand in Malaysia.

Good money hunting through silver.

This is one of the strategies im applying. But the main point is to source for cheapest supplier so that u can offer competitive prices. That is the hard part.
Another difficult part is to sell. The SLS group now has alot of seller. The buyer-seller ratio is not so good for traders. Once ppl are familiar with u, then okay la..

If everyone cooperate, we can make the trading eco-system works for everyone benefit. Importer can share their inventory for dealers in Lowyat. Importer can sell in SLS but not selling to every Tom, d*** and Harry the same price as in LY.

My next shipment posted in LY FB is to try to provide space for everyone. I am offering unit price 1oz bar at RM130. In LY I will offer 75+6, 15+1 and 8+0.5 packages. I SLS, I will offer only 1pc, 8+0.5 packages.

Let see how it work out. Muhsin requested it.
