It is not so much about u moving, it is more of as a result of the rotary drill movement. U use rotary drill and that drill moves by way of knocking together with screwing/drilling and that causes the holes to be a little bit bigger than it suppose to be.

Sometimes, it is about the concrete side, some with too much sand ingredient, easily chip away, hence the hole become slightly big and anchor pin become a bit loose. i think i moved too much when i am drilling ... Just like you hammer cement using a nail, everytime you will get slight different result. Normally I use undersize drill to test out first. |

QUOTE(earl-ku @ Dec 15 2015, 12:37 PM) assembly, screw driving = ok I am using this model too, the Bosch. Curious when you say no on concrete, do you mean it'll be impossible or just very slow?i think normal plaster wall with bricks = ok if its drilling a hole in concrete wall = no i am using this for normal installing works and screw driving, and its still rather big to handle ... for my curtain project - i got the Makita HR2470, makes the concrete wall look like tofu ... BTW, any recommendations on best bit to use for ceramic tiles or any will do? Looking to avoid cracks and longer lasting if possible. |

I'd also use 5.5mm drill bit if 6mm make a too large hole . With 5.5mm Usually it need to be wiggle a bit to enlarge the hole but at least I can control how large I want the hole to be.
Btw, I've purchased rm130 Mr DIY rotary hammer and find it quite adequate for my once in a while drilling. So far no failed attempt to drill any hole. I'd recommend it compared to B&D impact drill. |

It looks like this:http://www.mrdiy2u.com/rotary-drill/
It got 2 sizes, I picked the smaller one. If you need to drill actual hole through concrete then you might need the bigger one. But I'm not sure how reliable it is for making a hole. |

Hi all Sifus, looking for a budgeted drill which can drill the concrete wall of my condo. From all the previous posts I can conclude the safest is to get a rotary hammer drill.
So far I saw this is most budgeted and have decent reliability. Skil Rotary Hammer 1716 Specifications: 2Kg Rotary Hammer 1716 • Rated power input: 600 W • Impact energy: 1,7 J • Impact rate at rated speed: 0 - 4400 bpm • Rated speed: 2030 rpm • Weight without cable: 2.3 kg • Toolholder: SDS-plus • Top-Product: 0 • Max. drilling diameter in steel / wood: 13 / 30 mm To be safe before I buy just want to double confirm with all Sifus whether this drill power enough to handle any kind of concrete wall? (Take less than 10 seconds to drill a hole?) |

QUOTE(alpha team @ Feb 3 2016, 01:11 PM) Hi guys,I bought the skil 1716 from Lazada with RM337 including delivery fees. Pretty satisfy with its performance, which allows me to drill a 6mm hole for anchor within 20 seconds. I think this is quite a good choice for those with low budget like me. |
