I heard that this Massimo brand is funded by billionaire tycoon Robert Kwok & it is suppose to compete with Gardenia. Gardenia previously belongs to a genuine businessman but it has now been taken over by one of the cronies. Gardenia is a major brand in our country & no doubt it will be easy to make money since it is now an established brand here. This is what I heard so & I don't support cronism.

Thus I am buying Massimo now. Btw, Massimo taste much better.

smile.gif FFM (Federal Flour Mills) its self is one of many company own by Robert Kwok. And they (FFM) have bring in quite few brand into the market already such as Marina (frozen food), Seri Murni (Cooking oil, Nugget, Egg), Neptune, Anchor Flour, Blue Key, Kart's Food, the bread (Massimo).. and many more.

Regards to the bread, not to say the taste is so great to compare to others.. just a different texture n feeling to it. Just have a bite then u can decide either to keep buying or change back to others tongue.gif

p/s: my mom works there rolleyes.gif ^^v

The main problem now is the distribution channel. There are many shops that still are not carrying this brand. Hope the distribution will improve as time goes.

Hey i don't see why must be Gardenia la. Put household cost so high for this bread. Last time high 5 was cheaper so moved camp. Then massimo came and i moved camp again. For me cost dictates. In my house a loaf gets finished in 2-3 days. So can count la how much we use monthly on bread.

massimo is too stiff. gardenia isn't that good but there are no other worthwhile alternatives. jusco bakery - white bread taste and texture is great but there is no wholemeal version.

If you compare a slice of Gardenia with a slice of Massimo, I some how feel that Massimo's slice of bread is slightly heavier. This could be that more quality ingredient are put into making Massimo bread brows.gif

Try to compare & see. I did the comparison because once in a while we do buy Gardenia since Massimo can only be found at a few places.

massimo priced at rm2.5 is only a promotional price. it will be hiked to rm3.5 when you are hooked.

Robert Kwok is a wealthy business man that still cares for the commoner's well being. Price of sugar was low when he is still around here but once the company shifted hands, price increase a lot.

Now he is back in doing this small time bread business in order for the people to have cheaper quality bread. So we really should buy Massimo. tongue.gif
