yeah that's normal, that's why launching a promo is tedious especially on comms part and many parties to involve/sync on the launching.

those pre-auth transactions would likely be canceled without being SETTLED/actually charged to your card. Maybank would flagged this transaction and prevented from being "completed".

if this is detected LATE, whereby fraud transactions got posted into your card, then yes, need about 60 days to dispute and refund.
