I have been mulling on this for quite a while already and opening this opportunity up to gauge feedback. Financial services evolving in the FinTech era and more new products are coming out beyonds credit/debit cards.

Would like to invite proposals/TS for new topics on eMoney/ePayment services. Accepted proposals would be those under BNM list of eMoney issuers from banks and non bank providers.

Example of such products would be BigPay which is a product bought about by the development of FinTech. (Debit + App) Emerging products include MBB QRPay and the TouchNGo app.

Actually there are a some discussions on this in Kopitiam but since the posts there move very quickly, the threads are quite fragmented and not very active. I suggest someone create a dedicated thread in Finance, Business and Investment House to discuss on the various e-wallets features, news and promotions etc. I am sure there are many who are interested and could benefit from the discussion.

I use debit card to do online puchase and i realise that the amount held is 4% more than the actual amount of the transaction.

Anyone has any idea why hold 4% more?

I bought something from Shopee for RM100 but i checked my saving account it held RM104. I called to bank to enquire the PIC said it was normal as it would be returned after Shopee claim the RM100. She could not really answer my enquiries why hold more than the transaction amount as she said if Shopee claim RM104 the bank would release that amount 😓

FYI it was my first transaction by using the debit card for online purchase

I checked again and charged RM100 only but no idea why held RM104. HLB debit card
