Hi to those who have Deka fans, anybody has any experience that when using at the lowest speed after a few hours, there's some sort of grinding noise. The speed is not affected but there's a constant grinding noise like friction between 2 parts. Any way to solve it?

might be the bottom cover of the fan.
mine having some sort of sound like that..
have to open the bottom cover, and retighten.

the center middle cover, just need to twist it to open.
the bigger cover got 3 screws under the center middle cover
btw, this is my fan la.. but seeing ur model looks like the same design bottom part. unsure.gif

in other matter, last time i bought 2 box (4 unit fans).. and bought another single 1.
but the speed for the 1st 4 unit kinda slow than the single 1 unit i bought.

opening up the circuit, reveals that the earlier 4 unit using 450V 2.0uF starting cap.. but the latest one 500v 2.0uF.

Attached Image Attached Image

i have replace/upgraded the capacitor from 2.0uF to 2.2uF for the 4 unit 450v.

Attached Image

now the fan much more faster brows.gif

Anyone with manual on how to open Deka R8 fan? I have an annoying vibration issue and i want to dismantle the fan to check for loose items. Also, i have changed the capacitors on the R8s. 15 min job.

I was replying to some other comments on replacing the fan capacitors.

Currently, I am having some other issues with the same fan where it's vibrating. So I want to get a copy of the R8 installation manual to see how to take apart the fan so I can tighten any loose parts

ringing sound?
mine got the ringing sound.. the round bottom plate (the 1 with ir sensor) vibrating against the big motor cover. as both item made by metal.
if u want to open, just spin the bottom plate.. but not sure urs same design with me or not. unsure.gif

u can try search youtube how to open the bottom cover.
try search deka+fan+capacitor.

from there can find suitable videos.. nod.gif nod.gif

ive open mine and re-tighten all screw inside (btw, some screw too tight will vibrate hence need trial and error)

My tenant told me my deka fan is making intermittent beep and fan start stop whenever the toilet lights are turned on , so I assume the electrical wiring problem? Nothing to do with the fan right ?

Likely the start of your PCB problems. The PCB on Deka fans have extremely short lifespans. The technician replaced mine and it barely lasted a week, with its replacement dying right when the service warranty did (1 year). Just change to a different brand, it's not worth paying Deka >RM100 every year to fix the thing.

Does anyone know the problematic part on the PCB? Will changing the capacitor fix it?

Same problem with me - beeping sound randomly but especially when water heater switch is on. At first thought wiring problem, but if really fan problem then it's less headache ... phew ...

Kindly share if you found fix , because i don't have easy access to tenant place so time is gold, bcos If my place I can slowly fiddle around try tightening the neutral wire bcos some point loop same neutral might be loose or just replace fan haha thanks 😊

I'm still waiting for my friend to come and check the wiring but can't wait forever. The fan is in my bedroom, it's start randomly beeping in the middle of the night and wakes up my baby ... my wife is getting very impatient and bugging me to get the solution ....

If can't wait then I'll just replace the fan much faster ... haha

Hmm just read a few feedbacks and comments from other threads and Lazada - it seems possibly could be motherboard, remote sensor or motor problem. But all of them recommends if still under warranty, call Deka customer service and ask them to go and have a look, you could get free part replacement.

I'm going to give them a call and just ask them to have a look, since they are the experts in their own stuff after all laugh.gif

I have suspicions the technician used a poorly refurbished PCB as a replacement. Not like the "new" board was any good either. A permanent fix some independent electricians do is to bypass the PCB entirely and wire the motor straight to a capacitor. YMMV. And make sure they put a fuse somewhere in there. Don't start a fire.

I'm trying to DIY the bypass and the output to the motor has 6 pins which is confusing me. Board markings only note pin 1-4 as speeds (L, M, H, HH) and are fed by Live while 5 and 6 is switched by the relay (reverse direction) and goes to the 4uF capacitor which goes to a fuse and Neutral (also resistors and ground). Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the 4-speed w/ reverse fans with the the 6 pin motor input?

Hi, my DEKA ceiling fan is having a weird problem. It has speeds 1 2 and 3.Usually when I turn it on it defaults to speeed 2.One night it stops working when I turn it on but it still works if I change to speed 1 and 3 using the remote controller. The remote doesn't seem to be the problem bc I tried it on another fan of the same model and it works fine.

Any idea what the cause is? Most of what i found online is regarding the capacitor problem? I hope I can try to fix it myself during MCO lol

Most probably capacitor as only 1 speed effected..

Or might be relay, if the circuit using relay for speed selection.

Usually buzzing comes from motor not enough 'current' to turn.
Might try change capacitor 1st.. cheapest solutions if diy.

Btw, what model?
