If want PNS, Better get S100, but i think not in Malaysia yet. Canon off course
*

plus i already got S90.
and the P7100 i can use my SB flashes with it and have ttl, still small enough to go travelling with and also offers more control.

how about fujiflm x10? icon_idea.gif
*
dunno what the x10 price is yet for market here.
it feels decent, but the sensor isnt much bigger compared to whats in the S90/95/100 or P7100.
if i wanted another really compact one, the oly ZX-1 will definitely be my choice.
anyway i think if x10 is going to be more than rm2k, its going to be hard to sell.

the picture is slanted slightly.
ur focus ran abit? got any AF assist light? as ppl said closing down the aperture abit more is nicer so can get more of the food in the focus range.
or possibly shoot from further back with a zoom lens instead of going so close.
would be nicer if the wine bottle was turned abit more to camera right, so can see the logo brand more, thats assuming its a brand worth to be seen.

nikon NC filters also have very high transparency and easy to clean.
and they're cheaper than the hoya pro1 and b+w equivalents.
reason i guess why ppl dont go for nikon, is cos ppl think they need a uv filter which the NC isnt.

those 2 u mention, are smaller in size and yet abit more exp..hmm..wonder if any place can let me touch the unica? all this long i just saw the pic from google, didnt know if there any shop got sell..
*
a simple google will show a seller selling the vanguard for rm220...the manfrotto iirc is rm240+...so unless ur living in some reverse universe...i think rm220 is cheaper.
and depends what u mean by smaller...for me any bag that cannot fit a body with grip is small...so for me that manfrotto is small...the vanguard can fit with grip as well as an extra lens.
the tamrac I think cannot...but I know one of them is around rm230.

Added on November 13, 2011, 5:10 pmunica only place I know to touch it is eng tong in ss2...yl camera should have it also.

thinking find a suitable bag can put this first then fit camera later XD... umbrella can wrap outside like the backpacker wrap their mat.
*
umbrella u can fit into any bag that can hold tripod.
which basically means most modern backpacks can.

my 80-200 AFD was sharper wide open than 70-200 VR1, google and u will find others with the same opinion also.
but color wise the VR1 is better.
70-200 VR2 is the best of both worlds.

Is any1 using Nikon 17-55mm f/2.8 here? Just a quick question...

I've recently bought a new genuine hood. But when i attach in a reverse position, it doesn't lock tightly(it does have the *click* lock sound) as in I can simply just twist it and it will be loosen.

Is it suppose to be like that or I actually have to hold the unlock button then twist it to loosen it?
*
mine also doesnt lock in reserve.
doesnt bother me cos i dont use the hood much.

If you're on crop DX body and if your subject is 10 feet away, DoF is 2.24 feet. That's more than enough to get the person's eyes, ears, nose in focus. If subject is further away, the bigger the DoF.

If you're on FX body, DoF is 3.41 feet when subject is 10 feet away.
u forgot 1 little thing, crop factor and the FoV.
so for FX to get about the same fov as DX, u would probably have to stand about 7ft away, reducing the DoF to much smaller than the DX at 10ft.

"jajabinx" claim that the ari marcopoulos camera bag is made of rugged canvas water resistant(not water proof) material.

Most probably could handle drizzling or small rain. I like like the way it sticks to our body as sometimes when we kneel down or move our body to shoot pictures, a sling or shoulder bag could be annoying while Im not planning to get a backpack.
*
imo, if ur going to pay so much for that ari bag.
must as well look at the think tank retro 30.

Added on November 17, 2011, 5:54 pmbtw, ylcamera at pj sec14 / jaya one having their opening ceremony / sales tmr til sunday i think.
should be discounts on bags, they got a few manfrotto ones also.

erm, imo, the main features which AM got that outpace the other is the stick-to-body, in which compared to the think tank retro (which in my eyes as well) is more like a regular sling bag..
*
wat u mean by stick-to-body? like a backpack / waist pouch?
for a sling bag like the ari to stick-to-body, u have to wear it pretty high up, so in that sense any sling bag also can do but that will make it harder to access.

Added on November 17, 2011, 6:05 pmactually the way the ari is designed also, u would probably save money by getting something similar like the lowepro slingshot series.

1st let me make 1 thing clear where ppl usually confused.
Sling bag - similar to backpack but 1 strap, from top left to bottom right usually for asian or the other way round for western countries.
shoulder bag - messenger style, long strap.

As to answer to you yes, the bag is design to wear high up so it sticks to your back. Is easy to access... if u look closer, it is not exactly a sling. the strap of the bag is is design in a way that shoulder bag should be but length of a sling bag. So the position of the bag at your back will be in horizontal position like messenger so u can easily rotate it to your front like u do as a messenger to access it easily.
*
aiseh, lets just have wiki do it k.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sling_bag
A sling bag is a type of handbag that is worn over one shoulder with a strap that winds around the chest resting the bag on the lower back. Although it is similar to a messenger bag, a sling bag is often smaller.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shoulder_bag
Shoulder bag may refer to:
Messenger bag, a bag worn over one shoulder with a strap that winds around the chest.

so in essence, a sling bag is just a smaller version of a shoulder bag.
both are still basically messengers.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messenger_bag

Sling bag

anyway, just trying to help u all save money...not trying to argue.
so if u all feel the ari is good for u, do go ahead, but later dont be complaining tongue.gif

yea no problems.
cos so far google also cant find many ppl who even bought and reviewed the ari, sure got some la, but not enough considering the bag has been out for quite awhile already.
