This is odd. I think I'm wrong about the subnet mask.

My fixed IP & mask as given by TM is x.x.x.65 & 66, mask 255.255.255.252.

x.x.x.65 is assigned by PPPOE. I added 66 in /ip address. Now traceroute completes for 66 and I can telnet to both IPs.

Just for the heck of it, I added 64 & 67 as well. These work as well. Seems like I have 4 fixed IPs. Hmmm. (63 & 68 doesn't)

From where on the RB750GL do you see the subnet mask given by PPPOE?

OK, I did a /ip address print and the PPPOE assigned IP is x.x.x.65/32.

I'm waiting to see if Landasan can bring in cheaper. Last time they were selling the RB750GL for RM210. 40 bucks less than the LYN.

You're using RB751U-HnD already right? Did you manage to solve the problem with the network throughput dropouts caused by high CPU usage by the Flash process?

nope.. never did found out and nobody seems to know anything abt it.. other than some people are experiencing it..

im guessing its a bug.. not sure if it exists on the new 5.13 but seeing the mk forum..

seem like 5.06 and above seem to have weird funny problems..

maybe u can help bump the thread in mk forum see if anybody tested out the 5.13 and is still having the problem or not

Added on February 25, 2012, 3:14 pmWent to Landasan yesterday and bought a RB751U-2HnD to play with. Will be testing out its wifi range this weekend. Also had a hands on look at the Omnitik, Groove, SXT and other Mikrotik stuff. They have a lot of stuff in stock but no RB751G-2HnD.

Wow, this RB751U-2HnD is giving me headaches. The wireless part has so many options. Out of the box, I can't connect to it from my MacBook, "Connection timeout". Changed channels on the RB751 and it's OK. Maybe power too high. Router just a few feet away from devices. I dunno. I think better get some sleep first.

@JinXXX what's your wlan1 settings for the RB751U? Can you do a /export for me please? Thanks!

Supports both, it's a 2010 MBP, but that shouldn't matter right? I know that the RB751U is 2.4Ghz only. Also iPhone/iPad has the same problem using the RB751U default config. Sometimes it connects but it's very, very slow. I changed the RB751U wlan1 freq from default 2412 MHz to something else, e.g.: 1452, and it was OK. You think it's just interference?

Seems to be OS X limitation, design or otherwise. My MBP can only connect at 300mbps @ 5Ghz, max is 130mbps @ 2.4Ghz. I read that if I boot up in Windows on the MBP, I should be able to get 300 @ 2.4 GHz. I guess Steve Jobs decided that we don't need 300 @ 2.4Ghz. Oh well.

What throughput are you guys getting when copying files from another LAN device over WiFi?

MacBook <----WiFi---- RB751U-2HnD <---LAN---- Server

Copying from my file server, so far I've gotten a max of 2.8 megabytes/s. Even when the router shows my MacBook's WiFi is connected at 117mbps/130mbps? I'm quite sure I get better speeds than this with Airport Extreme at 2.4Ghz.

did you take a look at tools > profile , to see cpu utilization ?

whats the longer uptime u have for the router ? u got leave it on for like a week or something like that?

what version is your os ? , maybe ill down grade since you dont seem to have any problems

Sometimes need to copy big file over wifi, very slow. Normally when I work, I'm connected via GBLan.

Right now I see my wifi is connecting 130/130 but transfer file still 30mbps. Not a big deal lah but just want to see if I'm configuring something wrong.
