QUOTE(soonwai @ Feb 14 2012, 05:30 PM) This is odd. I think I'm wrong about the subnet mask. My fixed IP & mask as given by TM is x.x.x.65 & 66, mask 255.255.255.252. x.x.x.65 is assigned by PPPOE. I added 66 in /ip address. Now traceroute completes for 66 and I can telnet to both IPs. Just for the heck of it, I added 64 & 67 as well. These work as well. Seems like I have 4 fixed IPs. Hmmm. (63 & 68 doesn't) From where on the RB750GL do you see the subnet mask given by PPPOE? OK, I did a /ip address print and the PPPOE assigned IP is x.x.x.65/32. That is usually the case, cause one IP for TM router, another for your router, and 2 for your fixed IP. Last time when my office using one fix IP ADSL, i can use 2 inside the router. But if you need to map external IP inside your office / network you can only do one equipment/server. This post has been edited by weikee: Feb 14 2012, 09:32 PM

How much is the RB751G? Same price as the RB751U?
The CPU and FPS about the same, not worth to pay too much difference. Maybe RM 50 to 70 extra is ok.

Paying another RM 100 for all the same with just Giga port. To me not worth it. Maybe you have specific use for Gigaport but I don't see the use on my equipment.

QUOTE(soonwai @ Feb 17 2012, 10:02 AM) I'm waiting to see if Landasan can bring in cheaper. Last time they were selling the RB750GL for RM210. 40 bucks less than the LYN. You're using RB751U-HnD already right? Did you manage to solve the problem with the network throughput dropouts caused by high CPU usage by the Flash process? I don't have dropping issue, Even using torrent for few hours did not have this problem. But I don't leave the equipments on 24x7, I usually off before leaving to work.

QUOTE(soonwai @ Feb 27 2012, 02:28 AM) Wow, this RB751U-2HnD is giving me headaches. The wireless part has so many options. Out of the box, I can't connect to it from my MacBook, "Connection timeout". Changed channels on the RB751 and it's OK. Maybe power too high. Router just a few feet away from devices. I dunno. I think better get some sleep first. @JinXXX what's your wlan1 settings for the RB751U? Can you do a /export for me please? Thanks! Your Mac book support 2.4Ghz? or 5Ghz?

QUOTE(soonwai @ Feb 27 2012, 12:46 PM) Supports both, it's a 2010 MBP, but that shouldn't matter right? I know that the RB751U is 2.4Ghz only. Also iPhone/iPad has the same problem using the RB751U default config. Sometimes it connects but it's very, very slow. I changed the RB751U wlan1 freq from default 2412 MHz to something else, e.g.: 1452, and it was OK. You think it's just interference? Actually I am not surprise. Last time in my office, we had a D-Link AP, and many if our DELL D630 have intermittent connection problem with wireless. I reconfigure some of the AP signal setting and everything work fine. Think some receiver may have some issue with certain AP setting.

QUOTE(soonwai @ Mar 1 2012, 01:29 PM) Seems to be OS X limitation, design or otherwise. My MBP can only connect at 300mbps @ 5Ghz, max is 130mbps @ 2.4Ghz. I read that if I boot up in Windows on the MBP, I should be able to get 300 @ 2.4 GHz. I guess Steve Jobs decided that we don't need 300 @ 2.4Ghz. Oh well. What can you use on such speed? And with 2nd wireless connect to the same AP performance will drop too.

QUOTE(soonwai @ Mar 2 2012, 05:42 PM) Interface [attachmentid=2715406] I noticed the TX drops but not sure when it happened, it hasn't increased in the past day or so. Bridge [attachmentid=2715407] What throughput are you guys getting when copying files from another LAN device over WiFi? MacBook <----WiFi---- RB751U-2HnD <---LAN---- Server Copying from my file server, so far I've gotten a max of 2.8 megabytes/s. Even when the router shows my MacBook's WiFi is connected at 117mbps/130mbps? I'm quite sure I get better speeds than this with Airport Extreme at 2.4Ghz. How long did your PPPoE last reset? Mine about 6 hours now so far ok.

QUOTE(JinXXX @ Mar 2 2012, 10:20 PM) 6 hrs without any drop packet ? amazing.. you using 5.12 ? did you take a look at tools > profile , to see cpu utilization ? whats the longer uptime u have for the router ? u got leave it on for like a week or something like that? Think is old version. Did not do any upgrade since I got it in Dec or was it Jan. CPU utilization very low, idle most of the time is 98%. I think the most i leave it 3 to 4 days before restart. I usually off it when i go to work, sometime forgot. All things should be stable, when i watch PPS idle CPU is between 70 to 90%. This post has been edited by weikee: Mar 2 2012, 10:56 PM

QUOTE(soonwai @ Mar 3 2012, 12:21 AM) Sometimes need to copy big file over wifi, very slow. Normally when I work, I'm connected via GBLan. Right now I see my wifi is connecting 130/130 but transfer file still 30mbps. Not a big deal lah but just want to see if I'm configuring something wrong. The max speed is for Show only lah. I can never achieve such speed end to end data transfer.

Do you'll use back the default LAN IP? I always like to use class B IP but with class C subnet. My LAN IP usually is 172.xxx.xxx.xxx, this allow easy to have multiple zone of subnet for testing and zoning.
Added on March 3, 2012, 10:12 amSo far my PPPoE up for 18.5 hours no dropping.
