just got my unit from ss2 digi centre. My unit is i9100G also, does it mean anything bad? I was really worried and tot of not taking it;( Firmware is KH4, anyone can tell me whether this is the latest one?

Btw, i think the pink cast prob exists on my unit. Will updating firmware fix that?

ps: i don't intend to root my phone yet.

i9100g firmware is different. You got KH4 (2.3.4). Normal i9100 got KH2 and now KI2 both still 2.3.3.
Its best you install kies and see if there is any update for your phone. Maybe KI4 if that's how the numbering goes.

by seeing they replacing exynos with TIOMAP, we can probably draw a conclusion that exynos is so much powerful than TIOMAP, and they are short of it thus replacing it with TIOMAP; just like SAMOLED+ and SLCD.

Exynos is our processor, produced solely by samsung.

TIOMap is texas instrument's processor, more common and used by many phones out there.

SAMOLED+: super amoled plus, our SGSII's screen applies this technology. by far the most vivid and arguably the most beautiful screen technology.

SLCD: super clear LCD. common tech and mainly used in HTC phones. very bright and colorful but still lose to SAMOLED+.

the main reason is the shortage of supply i guess. since its solely produced by samsung, its disadvantage will be the lack of producing factories. furthermore the upcoming new phones by samsung may also use exynos as their processor, thus they must keep some for their new phones. another few months then the android king's throne for SGSII will be a gone case. gonna be taken over by other phones soon     

I just updated my SGS2 to KI3 (2.3.5) via Odin.

had to reinstall XP on my 6 year old laptop, thank god it's still working...

and guess what? the previous yellow tint on the left side of my screen (most obvious in low brightness) is GONE!

weird thing is market is back to the old market, and although I installed a non-wipe version, everything was wiped...
and somehow google sync did not restore my settings and apps... weird
how do i update market to the latest anyway?
