My PS3 just died, again.... And lucky this time is the MY set. The lens is not working after sudden loud noise coming out from lens motor.
Anybody know how long do i need to wait if send it to sony sc?

wow...mind telling on your usage habits?how long?where and what sort of things.just would like to gather more info from various users.

Nothing heavy, just playing from 11pm till 2am, almost everyday. Initially i did hear the sound of lens motor getting a bit louder when loading time. i thought its normal since my xbox is also having that kind of sound. but suddently last night, it got stuck at loading screen, with the sound of "tatatatata...." every 5 second. then it crash. cannot shutdown normal way. have to press power button 10 second to force shutdown properly. restart, cd got stuck and force eject using 10 second eject button. then look at cd, scratch like hell and i can see the death of my lens. hahaha. third time lens kaput, with 2 ps3 and lucky this one is MY set.
Still thinking if of how to claim warranty on my mass effect cd. i dont think can.

dun think u can claim the cd...but if u sent ur ps3 to SC, have to wait minimum 2 weeks before they inspect ur console...based on my experience...

Not sure can see or not. but theres is one deep scratch. the outer ring is a parmanent scratch also. hopefully wont effect the readability

must be something inside the drive that cause it.

wohh that is a deep one...btw how do you position the console??vertical?horizontal? also any chance there was any sudden shock??i.e ada terlanggar ka etc?

also since this is your 2nd time its happening with each time different console maybe you should consider changing the set up a bit etc on how you place them or such.could yield some positive result.

Was just wondering, can we DMZ two different IP on the UNIFI default router? Cause me and my brother both have PS3. I did port forwarding but somehow, I can't port forward the 443 port. I get the error "Port in used" or something like that. I already placed both PS3 on static IP and already DMZ-ed my brother static IP and it seems fine but I still get frequent disconnection from PSN. Help please?

The first time is the dreaded 1st gen ps3 lens prob. gatal tangan nak jugak beli first batch ps3. after change the lens then it can last for more than 3 years. this time, after i buy the new ps3, i had applied all the knowledge that i know to take care of ps3, and this still happen. Btw, i had been using the ps3 horizontally.

Sorry to ask but why are you trying to port forward/DMZ? Why not just connect both ps3s normally to the router?

hi, guys does anyone know why i turn on the ps3 at the xmb menu suddenly black out few sec then pop back the screen again .. i hv checked the hdmi cable isn't loose or watsoever and the display setting i change to hdmi out put ady but still the same .. why like that .. ?? thx

1. try with other HDMI cable
2. turn off your PS3 , then press ( keep holding ) the power button until hear 2nd beep sound , your PS3 should detect HDMI cable and the best output resolution for it , press OK then follow the menu

Yup. sent directly to the curve. was thinkin of fixing it myself so it would take less time. Used to fix my ps3 few time already since my previous set is not MY set. But then thinkin again just let sony to fix it this time.
