i just want to share something regarding this bad decision in world of football. well, i'm a rugby player. and i watch rugby a lot. if you also watch rugby, you'll realize that the amount of controversies regarding fault refereeing is much much lesser than in a football game. this is mainly due to the fact that the ref in a rugby game rely heavily on the Replays.

rugby is more of a slow game and even without the replay (or video refs), you can even spot the mistakes and make decision. this doesn't happen in world of football. for me, you can't blame the linesman for not awarding an offside when there is one because IN REAL TIME, he didn't see it. you must also take into account his perspectives when the incident happen. sometime, got people block his view, sometime the shot is super fast and he can't see who is offside and who is not..

so, i can't brain why football didn't use this technology. some people may argue by using this technology, it will demolish the drama in football. so, since everybody wants drama, there, you got it. fans should come into conclusion that this drama thingy is part and parcel in football. sometime you get it your way, sometime not. and thus, IMO, it is not a valid point to argue, especially against the team that got the advantage from this human error.

i always hope this technology will be implemented in football. it is such a beautiful game and to have it tarnished by a mere human error is not worth it. the game is played and viewed with superb passion so, let it have the best refs.

p/s: if you haven't see any rugby match, now is a good time. rugby world cup hehe and you can see the effectiveness of video refs

well ive heard that having this technology, will break the tempo of the game. always in need of pausing the game and wait for final decision. I believe that's one of the reason why they do not implement that.

Personally, I also prefer without videos, whether the decision will favor me, or against me.

That's just football. Every moment as it is.

That aside,

Tonight who's watching? I am godamn definitely watching!! Sleep is for the weak!

Actually I think FIFA and UEFA don't want to implement them is because small nations pro leagues might not be able to afford it. If only implement in developed country, then when continental games like Champions League use video tech also, then England/Spain will be used to them while teams from say...Wales/Crypus might not be used to the amount of time stopped for video reviews.

And somemore considering almost every small nations in Asia also have their own professional leagues , I would think leagues like Maldives, Philipines(if there is) will struggle to meet the video tech rule.

Or they might just be lazy to rewrite one whole paragraph of the rulebook to differentiate how to use video tech brows.gif tongue.gif

p/s: rugby match is 80 minutes right? Usually only watch it for half hour in the evening then leave teleision.

I never watch rugby but I totally support for a non-technology football.
Goal-line technology might be the maximum point for technology.
Relying too much on replays for football will cut down most of the interesting part of the game, drama. You can't really deny this, without drama, football doesn't have much like 'fan' vs 'fan' discussion.
Sports newspaper might cut down 40%, and a lot. Just take an example, Lampard 'scored a goal' against Germany in WC2010, but officials didn't give it. And ALMOST everyone was talking about that, this is the most effective way to keep this sport active.

Tonight match! I will watch it. Can't wait to see Lukaku and Josh! smile.gif

I think the excuse of video technology "breaking the tempo of the game" is the biggest BS I've ever heard. The amount of time a replay would take is definitely less than the time players will spend protesting the decision with the referee.

So yes, I agree that it's more the cost of such technology being implemented and the drama it is able to induce which is why video tech is still not used.
