i just want to share something regarding this bad decision in world of football. well, i'm a rugby player. and i watch rugby a lot. if you also watch rugby, you'll realize that the amount of controversies regarding fault refereeing is much much lesser than in a football game. this is mainly due to the fact that the ref in a rugby game rely heavily on the Replays.
rugby is more of a slow game and even without the replay (or video refs), you can even spot the mistakes and make decision. this doesn't happen in world of football. for me, you can't blame the linesman for not awarding an offside when there is one because IN REAL TIME, he didn't see it. you must also take into account his perspectives when the incident happen. sometime, got people block his view, sometime the shot is super fast and he can't see who is offside and who is not..
so, i can't brain why football didn't use this technology. some people may argue by using this technology, it will demolish the drama in football. so, since everybody wants drama, there, you got it. fans should come into conclusion that this drama thingy is part and parcel in football. sometime you get it your way, sometime not. and thus, IMO, it is not a valid point to argue, especially against the team that got the advantage from this human error.
i always hope this technology will be implemented in football. it is such a beautiful game and to have it tarnished by a mere human error is not worth it. the game is played and viewed with superb passion so, let it have the best refs.
p/s: if you haven't see any rugby match, now is a good time. rugby world cup hehe and you can see the effectiveness of video refs
