QUOTE(Frostymocha @ Sep 19 2011, 12:53 AM)
Torres miss was shocking.. but the main concern imo is Ramires. He's not connected to the game and made tons of mistakes. I wonder why he is not substituted.

btw, i think the ref made a dozen of wrong and biased calls.

imo, wrong and biased calls are part of the game. sometimes we got it our way, and vice versa.

we better look at the chances that we didn't take..

i'm also quite satisfied with the game hehe

real intention and real spirit. the off the ball movement when we are on attacking mode is good, especially after lampard is subbed..

and i also agree ramires didnt connect well with the team. yep, he was everywhere but thats all about him. defensively good, but not during our attacking play.

lukaku seems a bit relax although we are chasing MU. and he looks sluggish..

not agree to spend like crazy during january transfer window. the team is good. the squad rotation is there and nobody is injured except essien, whose position is well covered and drogba who is recovering fast

sturridge is a livewire on the right side and he did combine well with torres. so, no need to find a better right winger because avb will have real problem if another star come in

i just want to share something regarding this bad decision in world of football. well, i'm a rugby player. and i watch rugby a lot. if you also watch rugby, you'll realize that the amount of controversies regarding fault refereeing is much much lesser than in a football game. this is mainly due to the fact that the ref in a rugby game rely heavily on the Replays.

rugby is more of a slow game and even without the replay (or video refs), you can even spot the mistakes and make decision. this doesn't happen in world of football. for me, you can't blame the linesman for not awarding an offside when there is one because IN REAL TIME, he didn't see it. you must also take into account his perspectives when the incident happen. sometime, got people block his view, sometime the shot is super fast and he can't see who is offside and who is not..

so, i can't brain why football didn't use this technology. some people may argue by using this technology, it will demolish the drama in football. so, since everybody wants drama, there, you got it. fans should come into conclusion that this drama thingy is part and parcel in football. sometime you get it your way, sometime not. and thus, IMO, it is not a valid point to argue, especially against the team that got the advantage from this human error.

i always hope this technology will be implemented in football. it is such a beautiful game and to have it tarnished by a mere human error is not worth it. the game is played and viewed with superb passion so, let it have the best refs.

p/s: if you haven't see any rugby match, now is a good time. rugby world cup hehe and you can see the effectiveness of video refs

just my 2cents

i watch only the 1st half of the game and i am very impressed with the combo of josh and oriol. both of them is superb with their passing. and josh is really composed when the ball is at his feet. i agree with madfag, from the look of how he play, oriol is best suited at CM.

i agree that torres did contribute something in this game but i believe he can do more. from the start of the game, he look not interested with the game already. when everybody is sprinting to get into position, he only walk around and not even ask for the ball. i think he need to sort up his mentality. he should realize after this game, he will miss 3 games because of the red card. so, why not contribute 1 or 2 goals before the suspension begin?

bosingwa remain as the achilles's heel in our defense. and he doesn't contribute much during the attacking play.

we deserved the scoreline. with all the lazy play and jogging-paced counter attack, whats more can we hope?

we were comprehensively defeated by a team that is hunger for victory. when we got the lead at 1-0, we choose to sit back and let arsenal take control. rather than being professional and kill the game early on, we slow down a lot and give chances for arsenal to settle down

quite disappointed with the team.. the only stand out performer is juan mata. he is very hardworking. he was everywhere on the pitch.

i hope this will be a wake up call for everybody. if you want to be a champion, you need to play like a champion. i hate to say this but at the moment, man city is the team that want to prove their worthiness to become a champion. the ambition was cascaded down from the commitment of their owners to the players on the pitch. if their mentality is similar to us, to should settle for a 3-1 win at OT last week but instead, they trashed man utd to 6-1. overkilled the game and kill the morale of their opponent.

Added on October 30, 2011, 9:32 amagree with gry on issue regarding mikel. he should at least be more adventurous with his passing. being dubbed as the king of square passes will not do you any good. this is why people always say we never really replaced makelele. because makelele simply our deep lying playmaker. defensively mikel is superb. i dont deny this. but he got a lot of space and chance to offer a lot more than what he had now.

for the first time this season, i am very impressed with lampard haha he works hard, make some important tackles and distribute the ball really well.

chelsea seems to rely too much on their old guards. the same thing happen to newcastle when shearer was there. but what happen when shearer retires? they play brand new football that didn't resolve around the same person anymore. we need to have this kind of mentality also. Jt, lamps and drogba will not be forever with us. we need to move on. they might be the legend of chelsea already but nobody is bigger than the club.

sometimes when i watched how luiz played, i wonder why he always make simple and uncharacteristic mistakes. but when i look back at his age, he is still very young and i believe he will be an integral part of chelsea's defence in years to come. and i still believe he is the best partner for JT at the heart of our defence. slow but strong and discipline CB is not a rare breed but luiz certainly in that group. need to kick out the carelessness out of him

Added on November 26, 2011, 7:34 pmand looking forward for a win tonight. i will accept even a hard fought 1-0 win and then we can build our confidence from there.

i totally agree that romeu is very compose at DM position. he distribute the ball well. and not only sideways, he did quite a lot of forward pass which mikel really lacks. the only thing that mikel have more than romeu is passing accuracy. mikel is superb in this but most of the time, he didnt dare to gamble in making forward passes.

2 more weeks before we meet with city right? i hope by that time, we can gain our confidence bACK

i still prefer torres upfront with sturidge. although torres cant offer much, but compare him and drogba, he still have a long future in front of him. drogba already 33.. how long he will be available for us after this? and since both not in form, i'll gamble with torres.
