is there good cheap wide angle lens for panny ? other than that panny 7-14mm which cost like a bomb ? LOL
*
there is samyang prime lens 7.5mm for m43 cost around RM1250 from shashinki.com. not sure about the quality though but u can google for reviews. cheaper alternative is to use wide angle lens adapter.

sorry noob here. what is Image Stabilizer use for???
*
You know when u take photos in low light and you have to hold ur camera steady so ur picture wont be blurred? image stabiliser will help reduce the blur from unsteady hands.

so if use olympus lens will not have that function anymore??
*
olympus = image stabilisation is on the sensor itself, not the lens
panasonic = image stabilisation is within the lens barrel (OIS model), not the sensor (body)

so if u use pana body with olympus lens, you have no image stabilisation at all.
but if you use pana lens on oly body ull have dual image stabilisation rclxm9.gif

I just got a call from YL camera to pick up the camera. I asked about the free gifts, they said they don't have it yet. I'm supposed to register something then Olympus will send it to me via post. I even ask for a free memory card as a courtesy, they say the package doesn't come with it shakehead.gif

lol mine is the 4/3 version of 25mm f1.4 smile.gif me planning to get 45mm f1.8...stilll thinking this lens good or not..sadaniel..what do u think
*
the lens is definitely good depends whether you're gonna fully utilise it or not. i had it once but i sold it because its pretty much considered as a telephoto lens at 90mm not flexible enough for daily use. up to u la of course. thats just my opinion biggrin.gif

any good recommendation for a 37mm filter? the one i got was for video (HOYA) bt the reflections is too heavy (probably not multicoated). will try to return to shop or exchange for a better one.

when we login into the free gift redemption login page, after keying in the details and submit, do we receive an email to confirm the info that we have submitted? i got directed back to the login page. and when key in again, invalid access... ? so did it get thru?

the RM3599 vs RM3299 is probably the 'freegifts' costs... the 32GB SD card/MMF3 is probably around the price delta? but yeah, the SRP would come down after sometime.
*
It should be. i also did not get any confirmation that it went through. let's just hope it is biggrin.gif

If it was because of the freegifts then it's not free if we pay premium for it, just to get the camera early.

The body + kit lens is almost RM500 difference. I feel ripped off vmad.gif i bought body only and the retail price is going to be around RM300 cheaper when its available in camera shop this coming weeks.

This is based on Shashinki website and they are not always the cheapest out there. We could possibly come across a cheaper set from those doing bulk rclxub.gif

Maybe what retailers is doing is that they bought the set that comes with free adapter or sd card and keep the free items and sell the camera.

The only thing we can do now is...

ANYBODY WANTS TO BUY MY SANDISK EXTREME 32GB 45MB/s UHS-I Class 10 SDHC CARD + OLYMPUS OM CRAPPY MINIATURE CAMERA FOR RM500!!!!???

Looks like my greatest fears are coming true.  We pre-order fellas paid a premium to just to get the cameras earlier than the general public but it would seem that shops r starting to sell the OMD and worse still, at way lower prices. *sigh*
*
I kinda have mixed feelings about this. part of me is extremely happy to be one of the earliest people to get to use this camera while others have to wait weeks to get to own theirs. maybe by the time the camera actually available in retail, i probably got over the fact that i bought it for a tad higher price and just be happy using it.

So to make it worth our trouble. Let's go to public places and show it off while we still can. Those envy eyes might just be enough to bury our sorrow thumbup.gif

Had a quick play w the em-5... How come no one say anything about the ergonomic wan? The buttons too small and close together, the rear wheel so far away that my thumb cant reach and the strap lugs gets in the way
*
obviously u have a large manly hands and you will definitely benefit from the HLD-6 battery holder/grip which adds some body to it and two extra shutter buttons.

The battery holder will also add some comfort to hold the camera while ur arm is straight down, and just claw in to battery grip to hold it. currently i have to apply a bit of pressure just to hold it this way and adds wriststrap in case it slipped.

I have girly hands so no complains about the ergonomics here except i believe the nav buttons are just not clicky enough.

i have a question about Manual Focus usage on E-P3.  lens in use (eg m.zuiko 17mm 2.8 or 45mm 1.8) which has "focus-by-wire" according to what i've read

is it a MUST for me to set the option for MF in camera menu 1st bfor using (turning) the manual focus ring ?

is it damaging to turn or move the focus ring if camera is in AF mode? or would it just not have any effect in terms of focusing?
there is a S-AF + MF mode... i'm wondering if that means we can auto focus AND immediately turn focus ring to do adjustment with manual focus too.
*
yup both lens use focus-by-wire and u have to turn on MF in order to activate the manual focus ring. turning the focus ring while in AF should be no issue as it does not do anything to the electronics since its disable.

however when set to S-AF + MF, u can let the camera autofocus on the subject first, while still holding the shutter half-way, fine tune ur focus using the focus ring.
