Hi , anyone know how to make a good micro shot using Lumix GF2? tried few shots, alter the option.. still couldn't get a clear shot i like... options seems to be limited and the object which is placed about 3-4 inch away from the camera just won't snap..
first thing to check is the minimum focusing distance of the lens that u currently use. see below for examples:)-1WebA1001001A10F28B53252D36011.jpg)
Notice the writing on the lens says 0.3m/1ft-∞. that means that the lens can focus on an object from a minimum distance of 30cm. so if u try to use the same lens to focus on an object that 3 inches (about 8cm) away from your lens, it will not be able to focus on the object and the camera won't snap. You can however change the FOCUS PRIORITY settings on the camera to OFF but even if the camera snaps, you'll still get a blurred picture.
If you use a zoom lens, try to keep a minimum distance from an object according to your lens spec, and then use the zoom function (magnification) to compose as required.
Depends on what object you're trying to shoot, a good light source is your best friend. Ring flash perhaps?
There's also however a lens made specifically for macro shooting (Panasonic 45mm macro lens for example, see below) so you might want to look into that also. Perhaps someone can help explains the difference between macro lens from other lenses.
