Hi all, my 4 years old Inspiron's motherboard looks like it's fried. So I'm thinking of getting a new laptop.

1. Preferred Brand
I'm very satisfied with my 4 years old Inspiron, but I'm open to any brand with decent after-sale support.

2. Budget
Approximately RM3.5k.

3. Usage
Heavy usage, I tend to leave it on up to 12 hours straight for downloading & gaming. Hoping to be able to at least play Starcraft 2 smoothly on medium graphics.

4. Preferred laptop/screen size
Approximately 14"

Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

Lenovo Y470 or Asus N45SF if you prefer 14'' and both under RM3000.
Don't really have any better 14'' in RM3.5K price point, unless the Alienware M14x@RM4.2K

Wow, quite a big difference in price. What about performance wise? Is it significantly different too? Will I be able to play SC2 in high graphic on Asus or Lenovo?

What about 13" or 15"? Can I get something much better with RM3.5k?

Actually budget isn't a big issue, but if I can get what I need for less than RM3k, I'd go for it. No point for me to spend so much on something I'd probably under-utilize.

lee_what2004 sifu is right, there aren't many picks for powerful 14 inch laptops..
But its a different story for 15" laptops hehe, you might want to consider these:

If gaming is your 1st priority, then it'll be great if you could top up abit to get the G53Sx~
If don't want to top up, then its the Dv6 for you thumbup.gif

Hello, a very good day for LYN user. i'm currently looking for a netbook,

1. Preferred brand would be ASUS, but not obligatory.
2. Budget 1.5k
3. University student, use for typing a lot (best keyboard durability n usage experience please), internet a lot, occasionally watch videos but with own headphones, no heavy gaming.
4. Preferred screen size : netbook size

Others : hopefully to have pink in colour, not so heavy in weight. Not planning to be tweaked/upgrade/customized. Easily available in Klang Valley (if can suggest place to buy, it would be even better)

Thanks so much for the suggestion! God bless you.

Yeap both are in consideration. Currently, prefer asus 1015pw (pink or purple in colour), but dunno whether it is the best value over price choice.

Basically, need a tie-breaker here. Heee. Had been browsing for quite a while and got all confused/messy.

Erm hye again. Still the same request, i believe.

1015B from what i've heard, is in the process of phasing out already. And according to the outlet, i cant upgrade its RAM n HDD except by voiding the warranty. Is it still a good choice, or is there any better up-to-date model?

Toshiba NB520, on the other hand, since the netbook will be primarily used with headphones, the sensational speaker will be quite a waste then. Therefore not prefer it either.

Any other suggestion? Thanks for taking ur time.

Pretty much that spec. AMD C50/Atom N570 for these days..
Better CPU would need to step to 11.6'' netbook..
