Hi guys, ROM manager is useful?
I found that CWM is better than ROM manager..

i was checking out the specs... normally dun pay attention since already got sgs2, no $ to look at other things... the higher resolution is nice.

gps caught my attention. it's mentioned as GLONASS.


how come samsung still dun wanna remove the home button? or is it gingerbread still need physical button? i prefer buttonless on the screen.

i guess that would be sgs3?!?

The dell default UI is poorly designed; just replace it with say Launcher Pro, or Zeam, ADW - you will see a 100% improvement. Use a cook rom , and the performance is up another 100%. If this phone is bad, I will not be using it as my requirements are quite high. It ranks 3rd in my favorite phones after SGS II, HTC Incredible S. It beats the newer Xperia Arc, old Galaxy S in performance. I sold it after I bought the SGS II . But after a month, I bought back a new set. That just shows how I valued it. Some things in life you just need to experienced it to appreciate its goodness. Fleeting impressions are not always correct

I never used Tab 7" as a phone - the phone function is just a bonus. It is just inconvenient. Use it to make a call is still OK but imagine taking a call while you are on the move, it is just not practical. So I am still puzzled why so many users wants the latest Tab 10.1 to have calls function

Thinking of buying SGS2. But I don't like the SGS2 widgets. So today I went to a Samsung store and tested out installing some HTC Sense-like widgets...

ROM Manager is unreliable when you wish to restore roms. It is compatible with certain roms of SGS II not all roms. You could have a 100% good backup, but pray you get a good restore. I always advise, if you use rom manger always test its restore - don't assume it will work
Nothing beats Clockworkmod - it is 100% reliable in backups and restore. CWM has never fail me

Yes..you can just install whatever you like..even Sense 3.0 lock screen..

USE this - it shows that your are the BIG BOSS or "tai kor"

Thanks.. never know it will fail on restore. Then I will just uninstall it. It looks a bit unpractical, that's why I doubt on it.

ya, that's why i was surprised when u said its your main phone... coz my experience with the demo unit really killed any interest i had, even though i m a huge dell fan.

but oh well...

anyway, sgs2 is real poison... first buy phone... then case... then data plan... then external battery pack... oh ya... memory card some more... and i think need a new case (i have to repeat -- avoid sgp silke! after abt 2mths use, its now loose)...

wonder if i should have just gone for those flip case... i find it so retro. like motorola star tac.

Out of curiosity, does installing the Sense 3.0 lock screen require root access?
Is it using WidgetLocker to install?

Use AGILE LOCK for the htc sense 3 lockscreen. No need root

Yes..but as I tried before..there is a bug..not sure whether fix it or not..it will not fully 100% replace the stock lock screen..sometimes you need to disable it and enable again..

By the way, you can try..never try never know..

Never like those lockscreen apps. Still prefer default - simple and just a swipe away to unlock

Damn.. I lost the minimize function after update The Dolphin browser.

I found that CWM unable to restore back apps data and SD card folders

For example: I delated a folder in my SD card, the I use CWM to restore, the folder still can't be found.....

dolphin browser got new update?

have been trying out Boat browser... but like Dolphin... get frequent auto exit (not really FC since to error prompt), it just closes itself.

Yeah..after tried those fancy fancy lock..now go back to stock lockscreen..That's why I use Cognition S2 now..haha..stock look

CWM only backup and restore everything on your phone. Not internal / external SD. It is very reliable, like benny, it have never fail me before. First thing I did after getting my phone is root and install CWM. For your internal/external sd you can just copy to your pc as backup lo. Thats what I always do.

Talking about weather , which weather apps r u guys using that's accurate ? Currently using the default SPB shell and its not accurate , always show I'm in petaling jaya regardless of where i am except when I'm in the city and ACUWeather keep showing i'm at salak south when I'm in mid valley .... Besides beautiful widget that is .
