QUOTE(renishi @ Aug 9 2013, 04:26 PM) This 1 still need soldering skill and tools... but read this on head-fi and u voted for this colour also. They should have put silver + red vol knob then it will be awesome No soldering skill needed. Just need to know how to plug / unplug opamp and buffer.

ClieOS ah.... the combination introduction pictures seem quite confusing
the style with pins and style with pcb means? does it means 1 need soldering and dont?
Sry, totally a newbie lol + care to elaborate on minor details like the dual and single channel op?

Again, no soldering is needed. Everything has been pre-soldered before arrival. All you need to do is swap them out.
Opamp comes in both dual or single channels version. Obviously you will need dual channels to get a stereo sound. So if you have single channel chip, they need to be mounted on a special adapter so two single chips can function together like a dual chip. This will have been pre-soldered on the right adapter on E12DIY so again, no need for you to do any work except to swap out whatever chip(s) you want.
If you have no experience at all, my suggestion is to read into the basic knowledge on opamp. If you are really afraid you are going to mess them up, then you need to rethink if E12DIY is the right choice or not. For the same price, there are excellent portable amps out there too.

Good news for anyone who pre-ordered the E12DIY: It is official! FiiO has announced they have collected enough pre-order to give it a go.

Getting Started

My current setup is Ipod > E12 > MS2i. Wondering will there be much difference if i use the Fiio L11 line out before the E12. Btw, I placed deposit for the E12DIY just for the special edition sake. hehe

I just got the Fiio E17. Doesn't seem to make any noticeable difference to SQ paired with my T-Peos H-100. Does this also need some kind of burn-in or something?
Will I able to use USB OTG instead of the audio-out with my GS3 4.11?
