dformat-classy and very good finishing, not so cheap

The IKEA Besta range of cabinets may work for you... although I am not sure if they are lasting. On the other hand, the build-ins that I have used over the years, I find them to be better for wear. Based on your requirement, even the Besta cabinets wld cost 5k or thereabout... U can use the Ikea Planner at the homepage to work out the cost and layout.

I am following your thread to see how your project turns out, pls post your finished project for sharing.

i used to see these kinda design for cabinet. The door has clean line as the handle is just below the door. Something like this:

They don't do it anymore? hmm.gif

To have a clean line, laminated finish is the best solution. Just like the drawing attach by u, that can be done only by plywood with laminated finish. Melamine cant do so. and of coz acrylic also cant from what i know, coz at the back of acrylic is also melamine. However, Melamine still can be done by the similar way, which doing a normal shape door but digging a hole on the bottom, that become your hidden handle.

Usually user that don't like handle, this will be the best way. Laminate will much more color choice compare to melamine, and for solid color, some of the color can have glossy finish and Matt finish.

Hahaha. be careful with Defilio. Used them for my dry kitchen cabinet. Had to call them back to replace a few of the kitchen cabinet door's hinge (soft close) after 1 month of use. The workers also had to re-adjust some of the misaligned cabinet doors. After a month, the doors are out out alignment again.
As for the solid top, their workmanship is the worst. Despite numerous reminders, they have yet to come to repair the crack (joint) along one end of the counter top.

Melamine = Chipboard, compress wood, color is ready in pcs when out from factory.
Laminated plywood = natural wood ply, and finishing color by lay a pcs of lamiate on surface.
