QUOTE(ycs @ Nov 23 2010, 10:20 PM) just curious, why are most of the banks promoting FD placements? A few possibilities >Is there some new reserve requirement coming up? - to prevent capital outflow - to attract new deposits - to strengthen their deposit base - playing a catching up game with the big players etc. |

The interest rate currently is more skewed to the way up due to inflation threat. So by lock in customer longer tenure FD is advantage to banks if there is rate is being up by BNM. |
