hi...im a noob in this field and have a question to ask...do we need to bank in money into our FD account every month?
*
Fixed Deposit is for you to put a fixed amount for a fixed period (min 1 month). You don't need to "top-up" FD every month.

Maybank's eFD has no cert.... or receipt unless you print out the transaction when you create the eFD.

When you place in FCFD, you need to "pray" that the Malaysian currency drops or Foreign currency goes up, which will yield higher returns for the FCFD (Interest rate + Forex rate)

Amongst the best in town. AmBank is known to be very generous in its interest rate.

By the way, for the Top-Rate FD for 60-month, the interest will be paid out on a 6-monthly basis.
*
The 6-monthly basis Interest is paid to which account ?

I think AMbank rates (fixed deposit) is very attractive, but you need to lock your money for 60 months.

4.68% x 5 years = 23.4% guaranteed rate of investment for 5 years with principal amount being insured.

This can match the government bonds of 5% pa launched last year.
*
The 5% Govt Sukuk is only for 3 years... the AMBANK one is for 5 years...more interest and liquid (in case you need it for emergency)

is fact. not example.
saving for 6th years term. yearly 10k
yearly will enjoy cash and dividend around 1.8k. until 35th years if u not withdraw capital.
for simply calculation
this is already 2x times.

excluded compounding interest and others added interest. it will be 4.5x
*
You are in the wrong thread... FD vs your plan have 2 different risk appetite.
