i got this problem with my ps2.. the modded one though.. the problem is it sometimes cant read and unable to detect new dvd games i buy.. i did try the dvd at my cousin ps2 and it work and seems dont have any problem at all.. this only happen to some games and it still can read and work like a champ for my others ps2 games someone help me pls! i want to play new games! is it the lenns?

upgrade ur modded lens, its too old to support new games, maybe ur fwen ps2 have more advance modded than urs

Hi peeps, i would like to repair my PS2 (fat one) as it unable to load all of the games, dvd movies and audio cds. I suspect that the lens has spoilt. Anyway, I am looking for best candidates/shops to fix it. Since I'm from KL, can anyone suggest me where can I fix my ps2 and approximately how much would it actually cost?

the problem is i am here at sabah.. shop owner here seems dont know anything related to consoles.. they just want to sell it.. what should i tell them? i want to change my lens? and how much it will cost me?

need to ask a favor from you guys, i'm looking forward to buy a second hand PS2 (fat Version) model SCPH-3004 R, this console is not modded as it use ar2 to play pirated games, selling for rm350.

my question is:

1- if i want to mod so its automatically play pirated games, how much will it cos.

2- does this consoles worth money to buy?

This is the problem of the modded chip obviously.

If you wish to play the PS1 games, you have to replace the modded chip in order to play ps1 game.

For any people who want to buy PS2, strongly suggest that you don't attracted by t he ~RM400 PS2 because it is used crap modded chip..

I even saw the PS2 that cannot play DVD games, but it plays PS2 CD games and watch VCD..
some PS2 modded can play all ntsc but cannot play the pal region discs... make sure you try to run all type of games before you buy the "best" one..

However the picture quality may not good depends on your converter's quality.

hi guys..help pls..
i've been using my ps2 slim for bout 2-3yrs?
recently, when i load my GT4, after playing a race, when i wanted to race again, it just stops during the loading page...as we know, during the loading scene, there is a GT logo and a white dial rotating rite? the dial turns to red but still rotates..and then it will stay like that (loading)until i turned off the ps2..previously, i was able to play it.
When i tried my fren;s NFS Carbon, i couldnt even see the main scene, it stucked at the loading page,but the loading still loads(the loading bar moves)..
thankfully my PES is still working fine..
any idea what coud possibly happen?

sorry repeated problem again as i cant get actual solution after read through thread:P, my memory card i think got corrupted file and cant delete it normally, so i burn MCkiller .bin in to cd-r but my ps2 disc read error, how to solve this?

Is there a modchip version that enables a PlayStation 2 console to supports PlayStation games? If there is, how much will cost?

if i create a SG PSN account, would it boost my signal? I have a US account but I've been getting a lot of red bars in COD4 lately.

BTW i'm using Maxis Broadband, signal is frequently good (connected via HSDPA). No problems surfing, just online gaming.

I had my ps2 for 2-3 years and recently I was returning a game to a shop fella because I cant load the game.

before that i notice my disc had a noticable calar in encircling it.


later then the shop aunty explain to me that my ps2 ribbon is going to spoil and she charge me RM60 if I repair it at her place.

i don't want I was to be overcharge of it and I doubt the shop can be trusted or not if i send for it to repair as they might change some of the part for me,who knows?

any recommendation of shop to be send to repair,or this is a just a small problem can be DIY? appreciate everyone help
