@insane_people06
are those UV CCFLs in the 06 picture?? if they are.. kinda weird man.. i dont see any UV reactive stuff in the case. if there are UV stuff then u should take pix in the dark man.. and post it in the UV League Thread. that thread seriously need UV pix sweat.gif

a heat gun is the best way to do it. the cheapest and easiest way would be a lighter...which is what i use and they all turn out fine.. thumbup.gif

yeah...i use lighter even on my vantec shrinks. actually i use lighter on ALL my heatshrinks... be it vantec... uglyvamps, or even jalan pasar's

colors oso either black or whatever other color there is out there.. except UV reactive...never had UV reactive shrinks before.

honestly...the vantec shrinks are the worse... too bloody thick and it doesnt shrink nicely... id rather get shrinks from jalan pasar. those work perfectly for me

itll work but itll look like shit coz the sleeves will fray. thats why its recommended to use heatshrinks to give that much cleaner and neater look.

but what i did was i use cable tie and put heatshrink OVER the cable tie. i used the cable tie to make sure the sleeves and shrink doesnt move around.

detailed pix my case' cable management (same internals) is on page 3 of the same thread doom posted. the 007's internals is one of the best cases ive used for cable management. working on cable management on that case is actually quite fun tongue.gif

personally, id rather only connect the front internals that i need the most which would be the USB ports. i havent used a firewire port in years. even if i did need firewire. id rather use the mobo's onboard..

but if u really need to use the port, my suggestion is to lengthen it. by DIYing an extension adapter cable or to cut off (ouch) the original cable and soldering extensions to it. id rather do the first one honestly.

dunno la...somehow im just not quite happy with the top right corner of akachester's case. seems like theres TOO MUCH cables going through there...

mine only had the 24pin atx, SATA power and 1 molex power cable going thru. the rest i hid them in the cdrom bay.

@mADmAN, do you think i should hide the other cables at the CD-Rom bay?Would that look nicer?
*
yes i do.... thats what i did... the only cables that went there (behind the cdrom bay) were the ones necessary to go down to the bottom of the case....everything else was shoved into the cdrom bay

click on the case in my siggy. go to page 3. there are detailed pix of the front and the back of the case for cable management. might give u some ideas.

also, i added a cable tie base near the PSU to help keep the cables organized and stick to 1 place.

as for modular PSUs, in terms of neatness, i really DO NOT like them. coz when the cables are plugged in they look so messy at the PSU where they're plugged in..its like cables are coming out all over the place!!. id rather work on non-modular PSUs with short cables honestly. at least ull see all the cables coming out from ONE point tongue.gif

even with ur DVD at the first slot theres still some space above it to hide the cables....

thats what i did with mine...my DVD is on first slot and i hid the cables above it...

as for the bunch of cables... i suggest zip tying it to make it a bunch up together and little more neater.

1 thing i dont like about turning the hdd around in the PC007 is that the screws can only screw 1 on each side... i tried it with a 90deg SATA cable oso same thing...unless ur HDD is IDE then mebbe can la.

n yeah, i put a fan grill on my intake fan at the HDD side to prevent wires clashing with the blades.

same here...it took me hours to sleeve my PSU the first time...even then it was so easy that i could do it in the dark with just a head flashlight on.

that time my house blackout laugh.gif

u dont extend the cables on the PSU itself....u make ur own from scratch... go to an elctronics spare parts shop like those in jalan pasar and buy the cables, male and female molex, and male and female molex pins.

EDIT: example of Doom's DIY extension cables can be seen HERE

Nothing but sometimes there's a buzzing sound coming out of it and it gets loud. Since there is a silverstone service centre locally it wouldn't take a long time hopefully.

can tell me wheres the service center? im getting myself an OP650 around tuesday so this info would help in case of anything *touch wood*

If i were to buy a 24pin or molex connector will they come with the metal conductor in it?

I intend to make a few extension myself and if they don't come with the metal conductor inside i can't do it.
*
nope....unless u go to those electrical spare parts shops like the ones in jalan pasar. they might sell it for 20-40cents per pin.

no idea of name and address...but theres 2...the easiest to describe is the one near mcdonalds...

just go to SS2 and find a mcdonalds...its a few doors away from it...next to a hardware store. but that shop abit lansi though..

if u get the exact ones u dont need to mod la...just bring a sample so they know what u tokking about.

acrylic...dont think so.

Male and female molex are sold right? What about the 24pin socket on the motherboard? I need it for my extension so that i can plug that socket to the 24pin power cable.

I want to go UV but Silverstone's PSU will have the warranty voided if the already sleeved cables gets resleeved.
*
4 pin molex? yes theyre sold....the 24 pin male and female SHOULD also be sold...i say should coz ive never actually looked for them and ive never actually noticed them. but theoretically should be available la..especially in jalan pasar.

another option, is to get one of those 24->20 pin adapters... theyll come with the female 24pin and male 20 pin. what u can do is just cut off the female and SOLDER the cables onto it. take note of SOLDER. this is to ensure a good, tight and secure connection between the wires.

as for the male end... can try finding for a 20->24 pin adapter (yes, terbalik from the one above)... should come with male 24pin and 20 female pin OR find some dead 24pin PSU and cut off that one.

for sleeving... u can always sleeve OVER silverstone's black sleeves if u want. that way if u need to claim warranty, u can just remove the UV sleeves and leave the original black sleeves untouched.

so...who da man?? brows.gif
