hmmm... i use one LED only as moon light for my 1f tank..
dun shine over the whole tank, they need some dark spot to sleep..

err bro,
what type of LED? normal cikai from hobby kit or the high watt ones?
using my old submersible 8w blue-ish lamp(gonna wrap with transparent blue plastic to make it more blue-ish) but im sticking behind my moss wall outside the tank.

no point on 24hrs during dry start.. plants can't do photosynthesis 24hrs ... their "factory" need to rest too .. lolx

i do notice fish will stress out if u on light during their sleeping time.. obvious one is like neon tetra or cardina tetra.. their color faded when its their sleeping time

i am using normal project LED only... tap the wire and a simple on-off switch with my existing fan tongue.gif

haha, just recalculated all the stuffs needed for my auto-wc system.
price and types of item reference got from my nearest hardwareshop:
1) 2x timer (min of 15minutes setting daily, need 2 for both dirty & clean water, dont want to start both at the same time) - RM40
2) +/-metre airhose - RM5.00++
3) 2x internal filter - RM40
4) 2x plastic container(with cover) - RM5-15
5) 2x plastic flow regulator - RM1-2

Total: RM102+/-
haha...exepensive la doh.gif

*with this setting, the tank will be WC daily for 15minutes, WC % amount varies upon how much flow is being controlled*

yeah for self satisfaction
plus for me important thing is for DIY, it must be long lasting also
I just did quick WC last nite before I left for outstation.
hope my auto feeder works just fine for the next 5 days
first time using, can't imagine how they react when food drop from sky without me there
then again, I don't think they care, long as food still drops for them haha

help...tank water turned cloudy after water change ( 50%)

cleaned filter with existing tank water and top up with tank water (before draining).

Any idea or solutions to it?
am thinking of making the bacter 100+ clear super+ penac W solution and pour in.
*
added bacter 100, clear super on Saturday.
did slight water change.

water condition still not improving, in fact cloud is getting greening. suspect is algae now. sad.gif

Any suggestions? am thinking of more water change and adding activated carbon.

its not a newly setup tank and not problem with water source. my other tank water is clear.
