basic setup for a good photo setup I might use, manual exposure (SLR or Semi SLR is a must), external flash (Studio flash is an option), f5.6 and above, tripod is compulsory, my 1 cent....  biggrin.gif

I think he mean that the picture in first page, teaching how to setup, is not clear. sweat.gif

Doesn't look like neons to me. I think they are Cardinal Tetras. They are very sensitive to water conditions. Hence, the sayonara process. tongue.gif It costs at least RM2 each, right?
*
yes... you are right.... RM3 each cry.gif
get 8, left 4
I top up the amount back to 8 with neon last night
If no one look very closely they won't notice brows.gif

at least the "sayonara process" paused yesterday
praying hard it stop forever wacko.gif

--------------------------------------------------------------

Update
gahhhhhh, another tetra just sayonara cry.gif
nothing special happen, PH and temperature both stable

it just suddenly lose control and float with the water flow
when I see it, it was gasping for air and gone within 5min

he was still swimming happily in the group half an hour ago cry.gif

New Tank?
*
yes
started running on 16 dec, with 2ft tank, yeats CO2, 55watt lighting, HOB filter (360L/H)
added a tiger bard for water cycle purpose on next day
(I heard it quicken the speed to start a new tank)
get about 10 pcs ghost shrimp (those use for feeding) on 19 dec

everything was fine

until 3 days later, i took out the tiger bard and add 16 tetra in (8 cardinal tetra, 8 black neon)

and I start lost 1 or 2 of them everyday
first was black neon, until the number of black neon down to 5

It is cardinal tetra's turn
there is only 3 cardinal tetra left now cry.gif

another thing that I wonder..... they often swim like /\/
go up up and swim strait for like 1cm and "zoooom" down
is this normal? because i don't see those in LFS do this hmm.gif

from your description.. it seems that your tank has been running/cycling for only one week

a totally new tank will need around 3weeks to cycle properly, and if u using any soil, ie ADA, it will be leaking ammonia during the initial stage of planting

min 2 weeks to be safe smile.gif

Your forget to check for ammonia, but the best thing is try to rinse it or put your plants at 1 spare tank "nothing inside just for cleaning purpose" for 1 day then only put it to the main tank... did what you did last time end up 3 RCS, 2 at day 1 and 1 at second day same anubias plant..... reason could be either copper or ammonia spike from the plant (notice some soil at the driftwood?)... just rinse in if you prefer to see the plant in the tank than idle around wink.gif

oh... I see....
I plant with only holland sand and fertilizer ball
PH stay at 7++, I read that these fish prefer water around 6+ but didn't manage to get it
really should let it run with blank tank for a month before getting fishes sad.gif

added the bottled bacterial
and not expecting any of the tetras will survive till next month

I see they all accusing me from the afterworld bye.gif

it seems u play with chemicals a lots in the first stage... go for nature as long as u can, then start using chemical after your tank is settled down...

i not sure if "no-planaria" is not working or i seeing the wrong creature. My tiny worms doesnt dissapear.
In fact, they are multiplying very fast.
I also not sure they harm my shrimps or not since i have too many to count them one by one doh.gif

Basically no. refer to the color temperature of the light bulb.
different brand gives different design of casing, light bulb life span and PRICE. hehe

Please refer back to ciohbu's post previously and you shall find a table showing us how to lower/higher ph level.

Ciohbu:
would you mind to post that picture in first page of forum? so everyone can find it easily.

nice tank

wanna ask. if the rocks is covered with algae, some will remove the rocks to clean them. in your case removing the rocks will mess up ur white sand and may need to do some minor rescape when putting back the rocks... true ?

i've an algae problem in one of my tank. I've switched the filter to a smaller filter and plan to use this filter on a new tank. Do you think the algae spores will survive in the filter media and spread to my new tank ?

@surfsmurf - the algae will slowly disappear if you have healthy ecosystem in your tank. I never scrub or clean my rocks and my tank has been running for a year. Rocks are clean without algae. Scrubbing it won't help because algae will grow back on it. Get Oto to help but that is not the absolute solution.
