Potong is going to launch their hybrid car. This make me to think that, the budget might impose tax on imported hybrid car and caused less people get Insight, and the hope to get cheaper spare part is lower.

Got my dyno blue pearl on 15/9. straight went back to kampung and "ter" reach speed at 150km/h. done first service and immediately "ter" reach speed of 180km/h.

fc getting around 19-20km/l. no complaints. love every bit of the car.

have i damaged my car with such high speed?

Added on September 19, 2011, 11:07 ami wonder if our insight was caught in a flash flood. will that damage the IPU (as it located at the lower part of the trunk?)

will water find its way into the compartment or is it watertight? . dang i look at the news of flash flood and i started to think abt the IPU, scare the tutt out of me

does insurance cover it? water damage to IPU.

furthermore, can we wash the engine bay?? coz a lot of wiring and gadgetary n fancy electronic stuff is in there.

Man, that's so fast! I mean, relatively faster than we all the earlier owner We waited like 2-6months to get our rides... hehe... and i gotta say, for the 1st tank, ur FC is very good! Even after 8000+km mileage, I am struggling to maintain good FC... always got spoilt by the traffic along Federal Hway... haha

I tried to get the autospa touchup paint (pearl white) at carrefours @ JB, but sold out.
Probably settle for ezytouch at higher price.

Woke up this morning and found that my rear right hand side tire is total flat! Drove slowly slowly to the petrol station very near by (<100m) and inflate the tire. Drove to the nearest tire shop for checkup. It was found that a piece of small plastic like those from broken car lamp was stuck inside. The tire was patched and it goes well for now but the worry part is it probably cannot last!! The mechanic told me that moving with a flat tire could hurt the internal "wall" .. and could probably heat up fast and go burst while traveling long distance... WORRY WORRY. How true is it?? only travel a short short distance with tire flat.. Is there any method that could check the internal tire and its durability? Will be waste for changing the tire of < 6 months old...    

anyone using MEX on a daily basis? issit just me or the IMA system really malas to work on this hiway. the IMA doesnt assist much, eventhough im climbing an inclination..most of the time the IMA is in charging mode (though im going uphill)..

or im getting paranoid with my own car.

using fuel shell V-power RM62~ around 20 litres I think,
travel from JB to KL, with average speed mostly 140kph++, econ mode off,
stated in the car info panel, 15.6km/l

2nd scenario
using primax 95, econ mode on, cruise control mostly on,
but gain 19km/l

but for both scenario, based on fuel tank meter, the fuel use almost the same. 

by the way,

Just want to find out what was the package you guys opt for when first paying booking for this car, I just paid booking to the SA since he offered me 1k discount and a full tank of fuel then the other SA tried to undercut sale by telling me i should be getting 12 months free service and V-kool elite + RM500 discount.

In U.S. cycle, the 2012 Honda Insight Hybrid will be able to provide at least 46 mpg. In fuel economy comparison, the 2011 model is rated at 40 mpg city and 43 mpg highway.

10-15% additional fuel savings on the facelifted insight :'( 46 vs 40....

Anyway, the official stated milleage for insight is 18.28km/l for highway... so those of us getting 20 on average city+highway.. that's really good figure already!

Also, auto cruise, how often do you make use of it?
Any possible cons to using the auto cruise multiple times in a trip?

Just using my feet only to maintain a constant speed is not very efficient, as it'll go +- 2km mostly... and it goes into acceleration/recharging mode much more often than I intended..

As a result,

I'm starting to use cruise whenever possible, in roads that'll allow for at least 10 seconds stretch... in city driving. What about you guys? How often you use the cruise mode? Guess most of you are in KL, n in highway, cruise is definitely used. How about city driving? Got cruise?

i only use auto cruise when at highway and not much car in front. in city drive i felt is dangerous to use and manual also state this. so pls dont try to save more petrol n danger others ppl life.

for highway, sometime i do feel is better to control by ourself. for example if u travel around ipoh highway with a lot of uphill one. the auto cruise will try to match the speed and it will rev the car quite high during climb hill. Else on normal straight road it always a nice feature to use the auto cruise, but dont fall into sleep then is ok already
