Really aa? Then lega la. But my cousin's grumpy since he 1st got him. Mine, which I think in the same batch is having similar problem, but not as bad. Until recently. Suddenly got grumpy and 2 dozen quills dropping a day. Had him anti fungal shampoo, but quills still dropping a lot. Noticed the dropped ones are pretty small. What about the fur loss? Is it normal? Does hedgehog lose its fur? What did you do about leo's dry skin?

Noticed the new guy's back got few puss nodules.. Argh dunno what to do >.< and my hedgie keep scratching himself in its cage.

what happened? Sounds a bit like WHS.

Hello all, just like to update on my hedgies. I took in my cousin's hedgie, and though I face few problems to keep him, I managed to get hold on him

Roll is doing fine. He's really outgoing, won't sit still, and explore places and play like crazy. Play really loud with his hidebox during the night that I have trouble sleeping. He loves to sondol and pusing2 that thing from inside. Keep begging to be let out, and in the morning everything is a MESS! Give me headache. Even poo in his sleeping area. Probably because his cage is too small (inserting wheel leave no space for him to play). He's really tame, and since he's an explorer nothing seems to scare him. Pretty smart, too. He seems to respond to my voice when I give small warning so he'll not to venture to places he shouldn't, though he'll ignore it when he gets too excited. Seems to enjoy bath now for mealworms that come after. Looks like litter-train won't be easy for him. Messy eater, leave crumbs. Won't groom if he's already dirty. Treat me like his slave >.>''

Fossil (my cousin's) is more open up to me now. He's a cuddler, and have potential to be potty-train. When I put him outside, he goes to a corner with newspaper and pee poo there, and move slightly to drier place to do business again. His bite turns to nip now, doesn't hurt much. He's such a cutie, when I put him down with feed bowl between him and me, he cross the feed bowl so fast to get to me, wetting his feet in the water. And when he sleeps under my blanket, he'll slowly crawl up from my knee to my chest, with his face turns to me <3 he even willing to sleep on my palm, unlike Roll who just can't sit still >.<" and Roll would turn his head away when he notice he would see me. Nowadays Fossil turn up his spines for show only, do it also half-heartedly. Rarely hiss now, would stop once he notice it's me. He's also a neat eater, won't leave crumbs unless he didn't notice it.

One thing I notice is that they don't seem to mind each other's presence. They would pick lepak spot near/next to each other under my blanket, I test this many times. If not Fossil, Roll will go to the other. So cute <3 Probably because they were together in the petshop and face hardship together TT.TT I put Roll in Fossil's cage once, and since they have the same kind of hidebox, he go sniffing at the entrance, but doesn't enter because Fossil's inside. Before you got mad it's just for few minutes while I wipe his cage dry, and I put his hidebox and food bowl in as well in Fossil's cage that time.

ddr3, how do you handle such adventurous hedgie? ^^'' I let him out for a day once, but he got SO dirty, with poop on his face and dirt all over his body Dx. That's when my nightmare starts. He keep asking to be let out. He start quilling shortly after, and that doesn't help the situation. Became grumpy so I bribe him mealies so he behave for A DAY. Now not grumpy anymore but turns crazy Dx

Teli must love Huffster very much to spend so much. I was scolded by my aunt when I said I want to send the hedgies to the vet Dx She's nice but have different view on some things.

3ssa, how old is your hedgie? Babies sleep a lot.

I think I read in a forum a problem similar to yours, similar age as well. They said it's still quite small, but I could be wrong.. Need to wait for sifus here

Not stupid la, seems like you did your research as you've prepared her a wheel. Though I think the wheel might be a bit small for her. Reccomended size is 12'', which is 30 cm. They usually play the wheel at night. Mine used to ignore the wheel as well, but few days later he really like it, and have to confisticate for a while as his feet become sore.

ddr3, both boys la they are on anti-parasite, antibiotic, and multivits, Fossil is doing well, but Roll is not that good. Poor guy vomit all the way to the vet, so monyok afterward. Dunno how to bring him next time.

Before this they were fine when travel in car. So active summore go here and there in the car. Now roll is botak a lot TT.TT almost 200 quills lost yesterday.

How do u do quarantine? I don't let them mix, but I handle them both still, and thy r put on the same area but not at the same time.

Ddr3, 200 quills la, not typing mistake Dx He's quite botak now TT.TT Now I'm suspecting my mealworms are contaminated as I think he starts having issues after I bribe him with lots of mealies after he merajuk. Few days after no mealies he didn't scratch as much. Now after eating mealworms Fossil also getting itchy so I'm stopping mealworms for now. Gonna have to change his diet as well and wait for 2/3 weeks and see if he improves.

I don't think it's mite, though.

1st- He's staying in plastic container.
2nd- We are using fleece before, but change to fleece + wood bedding (only in litter tray) as the doc said his pee will worsen his foot (melecet bcuz of wheel, bengkak n turn to dark brown crust, padahal I only let him play once or twice).
3rd- Afraid paper can't absorb pee well, now his foot seems better.
4th- Nope, crusty skin, red crust surrounding quills, no white thing crawling..
5th- Called the vet, he said to finish the meds, change his diet immediately, n see in two weeks got improvement or not.

Jow to bond with hedgie that sleeps a lot, don't like to be pick up (but very tame), and don't explore much? My Roll has become very quiet nowadays, and I'm quite lost how to spend time with him He sleeps almost all day now, and even if I let him out, he just sat where I put him down..

One more question, do hedgie can merajuk and behave a certain way because it afraid what might happen if it didn't behave? Before when he's active I let my BF babysit him, and he merajuk, duwan see his face. Now he's back with me he's really quite it worries me
