hacken: haha. Lol. I can repaint for my own my model but I'm not confident yet to actually repaint other ppl's model. There's still alot to learn in terms of repainting models.
wkwebsite: nice lambos!! Here are some of my latest adds ![]() ![]() ![]() incase you're wondering, ![]() The Stirling Moss(1/12), DBS(1/14) and Ford GT(1/18) are R/C models. They're fantastic in my opinion. It has great details, shape and stance. Not to mention it's 1/12 and yet cost less than a 1/18 Bburago. And finally, after several months, I had the time to ALMOST complete this custom. ![]() ![]() regular HW with 16M stripe and Novitec wheels. ![]() ![]() |

for 'Diecast' model cars, do we need to 'build' or paint it when we buy? or it comes ready for display already? |

in terms of quality /price , the price is depends on its brand, car model, details & its rarity. Car Diecast is the replica of the car model in different scale. The larger the scale, the details of the model will be more accurate, and also is very depending on how the manufacturer make it.
normally ppl will collect 1:18 & 1:43. The common diecast brand u can find in market is hotwheels, maisto, bburago. u can find it in supermarket like Jusco. The price range is around rm100 - 200. this two manufacturer released wide range of car models. if you wan some high end models, then u need to pay more for that and depends on which car model you r looking for. For that level, u can go for Autoart, Kyosho, Norev, Minichamps, Hotwheels Elite. If you wan some museum quality or limited edtion, go for BBR and CMC. If you have tons of money no where to spend, then go for Amalgram. Here is the list for some popular brand in the market besides Amalgram. CMC, BBR, Autoart, Kyosho, Norev, Minichamps, Hotwheels, Hotwheels Elite, Mondo Motors, Maisto and Burago. just 4 ur references, it's just my opinion. Look for which car you like 1st. If u cannot afford to buy it, then u get the diecast of it based on ur budget. For me, i like Lamborghini Reventon, there r 2 makers for Lamborghini Reventon, Autoart & Burago. Autoart RM450, Burago RM150. Autoart is expensive but its detail and paint job is slightly better than Burago. I have more budget so i pick Autoart. here is the article of comparison between two brand, Autoart and mondo Motors. http://sgdc.8.forumer.com/a/lamborghini-re...s_post1788.html Most collectors' favorite brand is Autoart. So i suggest u go for Autoart 1st. This post has been edited by WKWebsite: Oct 9 2011, 04:31 PM |

I see maisto and kyosho frequently on Amazon, but it seems like it needs to be assembled?
is there a way to differentiate between a model thats already assembled or one that needs to? Or actually Maisto and Kyosho sells only assembled ones? if thats the case i wouldnt need to worry when i see this 2 brand names.. thanks so much for your time explaining |

QUOTE(WKWebsite @ Oct 9 2011, 03:53 PM) normally ppl will collect 1:18 - 1:24. Corrections bro, most people collects 1:18 & 1:43. 1:24 have less fan base, that's why AA or Kyosho didn't have their own 1:24 lines.This post has been edited by Sauron76: Oct 9 2011, 04:26 PM |

thanks sauron,
actually i just started collecting diecast this year. Don't get from Amazon....their price is ridiculous. u can get from Masterlaoda, http://www.diecast-empire.com. if u wan Maisto, go Jusco. if you wan Kyosho, there is a Kyosho shop in time square, sometimes their offer price is below rm300 for a diecast, but with limited models to be choose.. Most of the diecast model is assembled, unless u prefer the one that is required to do so. For Kyosho, Kyosho not just release diecast only, they also got some models required to assemble 1, and also some RC Car, remote / radio control. Fujimi Tamiya which is popular brand in RC Car, they got sell some model kit required some assembly, paint + apply decal. in terms of details, depends on which model and u have to compare it urself .
