QUOTE(vanderbilt @ Jul 30 2011, 05:17 PM) Wanna ask a question don't know if anyone can help. It's a good thing to check our CCRIS once in a while. Well, BNM limits us to check it once everyone three months only. I wondered how's your CCRIS report looks like. No remark at all i suppose ? Mind to share I currently hold 3 credit cards: Maybank World Mastercard CL RM 80k Outstanding none CIMB World Mastercard CL RM 100k Outstanding 80k MBF World Mastercard CL RM 50k Outstanding 40k Been holding CIMB card since 2007, Maybank since 2008 and MBF since 2010. That is all my commitment. No car loan no housing loan etc. Monthly gross salary is RM 25k. Payment in CCRIS all prompt never late. Do you think if I apply cards from other bank they will approve or do I fall under "high risk" category? I'm in my mid 20s. QUOTE(Gen-X @ Jul 30 2011, 07:54 PM) No, I doubt it. Taking a wild guess, he must be either partying hard or likes to visit our city in the heaven or maybe our neighbour resort island I was just 17 years old when i first checked into a hotel using my own name. It was Le Meridien Singapore (now Concorde Hotel) and the check in went through just fine. Anyway, the hotel was all paid for before i checked in Talking about kids, my 19 years old son got DA WMC and MBB 2 Plat supp cards with CL of more than the century mark but he cannot check into a hotel in Melaka today because he is under 21, hahaha He had to call me to fax the hotel a letter permitting him to check in and that the hotel is not liable for whatever happens. First time I heard such thing. When I was under 21 years back, I could check into hotels Lucky lah your son. Only 19 years old already got a World MasterCard. Even a debit card was so rare just a few years ago and i had to screw the internet over and over again before i finally found out that Public Bank offers a VISA Electron. Wanted my own card so badly then because i often buys something from the internet and it is much more convenient if i have my own card This post has been edited by MilesAndMore: Jul 31 2011, 12:29 AM |

QUOTE(andy_lyy @ Aug 4 2011, 10:59 AM) Question~ No. You can't. You need to travel in Dynasty Class (Business Class) or hold a high-tier Dynasty Flyer FFP status in order to gain access to their lounge.I will be travel with China Airlines at KLIA, i check online, Dynasty Lounge is for China Airlines. http://www.klia.com.my/index.php?option=co...w=article&id=57 Is it I can just show my SCB Plat then can enter? QUOTE(krazee350 @ Aug 4 2011, 12:57 PM) Not sure the question is relevant to this topic but since it's about credit card issue I might just ask. VIP card ? For credit card users ? It's a SCAM man. You did the right thing by hung up on them and you should continue to do so next time you receive a similar call I've been getting calls 2-3x a week from some promoter stating they giving a VIP card (or some others offer) for all the credit card users. The problem now is I keep telling them I'm not interested and they doesn't seem to compute with my request. It's getting annoying actually. Any idea how to make them to stop calling once and for all? I can just hung up immediately but that seem to be rude to them. Haih. Thx. This post has been edited by MilesAndMore: Aug 4 2011, 01:30 PM |

Any of you had any prior experience booking a room through Hotelclub.com ? May i know in what currency they are going to bill us ? Say for hotel booking in South Korea ? Is it going to be in KRW or USD ? And what if we choose to view the rate in MYR ? Thanks in advance!

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Aug 21 2011, 08:50 PM) Next time you speak to Citi again, ask him to pass message to CC Dept boss if they need our help to create the ultimate CC LOL. I think the guy is from a company called callop or caleb something. They are doing a survey on behalf of Citibank. Actually, it wasn't just a few questions. He asked me many different questions and i needed to grade them. The whole process took 13 minutes 25 seconds. I was also asked if i'd recommend Citibank credit card to other people and i said i'm neutral on that. At the end, he asked if it's ok to include my real name (no, i didn't have to tell him my name over the phone because he already knows my name) when they submit the survey back to Citibank or i'd prefer to do it anonymously QUOTE(hye @ Aug 21 2011, 09:56 PM) they proudly mentioned that points are 2x with their cards when used overseas and I replied MBB cards are 5x. I'm not aware of the 2x points. Which card gives 2x points for overseas use ? Their regular platinum credit card ?QUOTE(hye @ Aug 21 2011, 09:56 PM) Can't blame them if they withdraw sponsorship for this thread. At least it goes to show that we are vendor neutral bunch of guys. QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Aug 18 2011, 02:46 PM) Any of you had any prior experience booking a room through Hotelclub.com ? May i know in what currency they are going to bill us ? Say for hotel booking in South Korea ? Is it going to be in KRW or USD ? And what if we choose to view the rate in MYR ? Thanks in advance! Let me answer this question myself I booked a room through Hotelclub and was billed RM2857.62, the exact amount quoted to me in MYR in the checkout page. There was no currency conversion at all. Should i have known this earlier, i would have charged the room to my Citibank VISA instead of Maybank VISA Anyway, the booking was made just 2 days ago and when i went back to the website this morning, the rate has gone down a bit to just RM2816.50. It means that i overpaid RM41.12 Whenever you choose to book a room through Hotelclub, always choose MYR as your default currency. You'll notice that their MYR rate is lower than the rate quoted in USD or Korean Won (in my case). For example, when i checked the room rate this morning, i was quoted RM563.30/night for a Deluxe Room at Sheraton Seoul in October. However, if i choose to see the room rate in USD, it is US$189.14 while in Korean Won, i was quoted KRW205,584. No matter how good the exchange given by Maybank is, you won't get the same MYR rate quoted by Hotelclub. QUOTE(Gen-X @ Aug 22 2011, 03:39 AM) Miles, what was the telephone number? Just curious. 03-41425022QUOTE(Gen-X @ Aug 22 2011, 03:39 AM) See you guys next weekend, going for holiday 顺风顺风 QUOTE(hye @ Aug 22 2011, 08:41 AM) Either way, they are not 5x! Seems Citibank is now attempting to come back with 5x although selectively. Yeah, the 5x points are applicable only for spending at selected places. It used to be a promotion or something but now it is a permanent feature of their cards (just the regular Gold & Platinum cards). |

QUOTE(warezmetoo @ Aug 23 2011, 12:44 AM) HI guys, Kindly post your question here.Im new to this thread and am considering to get my first card. I have been eyeing Maybank 2 Platinum cards and Citibank Cash Back Platinum + Citibank AirAsia Gold. My annual income is slightly more than RM60k. I will be using the card primarily for gas (preferably petronas), and weekend shopping + good food + movies. From time to time, I'll also be using it for travel overseas. Which of the two cards would you guys be recommending? Thanks. |

QUOTE(valkyrie5034 @ Aug 24 2011, 10:44 AM) Understood. It's not like every month I have to use card if I'm not spending much. Just making sure there's nothing like monthly fee or bank TOC to terminate card if inactive for more than 2 months. You do go to the cinema, shop at the shopping centre and eat outside once in a while right ? So, once you get your credit card, do not use cash. Charge everything to your credit card instead in all the places that accept credit card. The bank is rewarding you by giving you either reward point which you will need to accumulate to redeem for anything stated in their rewards catalogue or cash back whenever you use your credit card. You get nothing if pay by cash. Be a smart consumer |

QUOTE(moshimaruu @ Aug 25 2011, 08:19 PM) But previously PBB offer me CC as long i maintain my car. but i late reply my answer to them, after one month, i try apply back to them, but so far do have any response for them too. Since you have a mortgage with OCBC, try to get their OCBC Titanium MasterCard. This card can save you up to RM600/pa. My installment for house loan is OCBC, car loan only is PBB. Should i apply for CIMB or CITIBANK? is it easier? |
