QUOTE(andy_lyy @ Oct 6 2011, 01:19 AM) yea.. i manage to get my balance cashback.. here is my sharing~~ Good for you since the cash back is supposed to be in block of RM50. However I am blur, if you have cancelled your card, how are you going to utilize the cash back since it is credited into the account? And if you do use the card to offset the cash back, won't you need to pay the RM50 GST?http://yylaw.blogspot.com/2011/10/no-claim...ry-against.html This post has been edited by Gen-X: Oct 6 2011, 08:11 AM |

I called up RHB to cancelled my Visa Plat this week since I'm going to withdraw some funds thus having less than RM200K with them as required for PB. Just got a call from them asking me to keep the card because the card is free for life for my case

QUOTE(erry- @ Oct 6 2011, 05:20 PM) coz now rhb visa plat no need to have PB anymore. but free annual fee is good already 4u, coz for others need to swipe rm36k/year to get the rm500 waived. congrats ~ QUOTE(winner @ Oct 6 2011, 05:38 PM) QUOTE(chemistry @ Oct 6 2011, 06:17 PM) Actually after I called to cancel my Plat Visa earlier this week, I also went to the branch to surrender Premier Debit Card, but my RM told me to just keep the Premier Debit Card (0.5% cash back card) and don't worry about the account Just to add, I applied the RHB Plat not with the standard CC application form (as erry said RHB Plat need to swipe RM36K to get AF waived) but via PB application form which ensures free AF automatically. nokiaXP, I a bit confused, you apply for personal loan but same time you posted at Finance Section you got RM5K which you don't know what to invest in. You did not mention which bank reject your cc application and which bank approved your pl, I want to know so that I make sure I don't buy that bank shares
To all, I just published my latest article on Maybank CC Promotion. nothing much except for 0% BT and 6% discount with agoda. Click here to read the article. This post has been edited by Gen-X: Oct 11 2011, 09:25 AM |

QUOTE(hye @ Oct 11 2011, 10:03 AM) Bro Gen-X, perhaps you would like to mention in your blog that for Maybank 0% BT, it is recommended that our readers explore more about Maybank's BT system. Great you have the link to Maybank's BT blog but as usual, our readers will skip all this and just take what is obvious to them and not the fine print. In summary, 1. Divide the BT amount into 12 months and this shall be your installment every month. 2. The installment amount would be injected into your credit card account every month over the next 12 month. 3. Thus technically the amount to pay every month is Outstanding + BT installment 4. One need to be careful to pay in full the BT installment every month or will incur interest the moment this requirement is not met. Note : Little is known about Maybank payment hierarchy policy thus one may incur a lot of interest. QUOTE(gerrardling @ Oct 11 2011, 10:10 AM) About ezycash, only one time up front interest will be charged which is 3.88% for 6 months (7.76% p.a and it is lower than personal loan) updated the article with both your above commentsclick here for the t&c http://www.maybank2u.com.my/WebBank/TnCEzyCash_150411.pdf hye: You are absolutely right bro, especially on the part readers skipping the most important part i.e. reading the terms and conditions. I will just cut your above mentioned items and paste it at my blog, hope you don't mind. gerrardling: thank you Sir for showing me the T&C link. It is just odd that Maybank states Cash Advance Fee instead of Admin Fee. Bro, the 7.76% is the effective interest rate? To all: I added a new page to my blog called Fixed Deposit too, makes it easier for those who wants to optimize earning pocket money combining with 0% BT and 0% installment plan. Click here to my FIXED DEPOSIT page and bookmark it This post has been edited by Gen-X: Oct 11 2011, 10:47 AM |

QUOTE(yyteik @ Oct 13 2011, 09:19 AM) Haha.. I am not actually creating debts larrrr... I always pay up my balance every month wan... Never ever kena interest before. Just for knowledge. If you have valid some reason for making late payment after Due Date, like erry said, can request waiver for late payment penalty and interest charges.Wanted to know if late payment for a few days, whether they will calculate one month interest and charge to bill (meaning at next statement date interest will show as one line) or calculate daily and they will charge to statement (so you will see many lines of interest daily) until the payment is made. So if my interpretation is correct, based on the case, payment on Nov 9, daily means : RM1,000 x 15% / 365 days x 26 days = RM10.68. Correct or not my computation? Or the number or days should exclude the interest free period and should calculate from Nov 2 to Nov 9 only? Kekeke... thanks in advance ya for those who know... According to T&C, if you fail to pay in full prior to the Due Date, interest is suppose to start from the day of the transaction. So, your example can say is correct. But maybe got to add late payment penalty ( I got no idea if this late payment penalty also imposed interest or not). Click here to read my article CC are Cash Cow for Banks. Are You working for the Banks? In this article I have given a sample of interest rate charges when one fails to pay in full. QUOTE(ronnie @ Oct 13 2011, 10:43 AM) even if you don't travel much, the 2X TP is pretty good too for local spending, it's like 1% cash back and first year GST can be waived with the FREE 10K TP. Use 1 year, if MBB don't want give AF waiver, transfer TP to other MBB account This post has been edited by Gen-X: Oct 13 2011, 11:03 AM |

QUOTE(psiloveu @ Oct 13 2011, 02:44 PM) Update about Maybank VI application from other forum, a current amex plat charge card holder applied it and CS still request him to submit latest two months payslip, nowday bank is very strict for card application as required by BNM new rules. ask him how much his credit limit for this Plat charge card, yes, Charge card also got limit. QUOTE(zenquix @ Oct 13 2011, 05:11 PM) did anyone find the disclosure doc on the visa infinite? Need it to complete my blog post.. Fully agree with you, best card for overseas Edit: Finished my blog post. Surprisingly, there are less information about this card compared to the Maybank2 card when it launched. Conclusion: Best overseas usage card, great companion card for MBB2 Amex. But why in your blog you did not stress spend RM50K get AF waived, much less than CIMB Enrich WMC and even MBB WMC. QUOTE(seanlee89 @ Oct 14 2011, 12:34 PM) Hi, I just applied for Public Bank CC & is now ready to collect. I suddenly don't feel like having the card, how do I cancel it? will there be any charges? Thanks. Call Customer Service immediately and see if you can cancel the card. If they say CAN cancel card BUT still need to pay RM50GST, better you just keep the card and benefit from PBB promos. |

In the meantime, did a short article over the weekend for Maybank VI where I agree with zenquix that it is the best card for overseas transactions. QUOTE(gerrardling @ Oct 18 2011, 10:57 AM) AMEX is still better than MBB VI for oversea transaction IF you spend on weekend and you have not max out the rm50 cash back quota yet Bro, if one has the MBB VI, most probably he/she would use up the RM50 for local spending already. Or if spend above RM1K overseas on weekends with MBB 2 AMEX, he/she will be losing out. This post has been edited by Gen-X: Oct 18 2011, 11:09 AM |

QUOTE(ronnie @ Oct 18 2011, 01:22 PM) What! cannot enter Garden Premier toilet with our Platinum cards anymore? **EDITED** to avoid making people confuse with my WRONG statement. As for MBB VI versus MBB 2 AMEX: a) MBB Visa or MAsterCArd overseas transaction fee is the lowest. b) most of us who use our AMEX overseas knows not really fixed at 2.5%. c) MBB VI we can earn something, MBB 2 AMEX we hope that the RM1=5XTP can offset AMEX overseas fees. QUOTE(nokiaXP @ Oct 19 2011, 03:09 AM) nokiaXP, no point you ask us about CL increase, we are not the bank processing department. Every individual is different based on his spending pattern, payment pattern and credit history and as such some will get increase by simply calling to CS but some need to submit additional docs. |

hye: I don't know if you read erry's replies earlier where he has deleted his suggestion in the posting above, but if you had, you be shocked. Actually alexwsk did reply not to pass the card as what cute_boboi mentioned and I did comment instead get a MBB or UOB Debit Card on the spot for his GF and lynus5986 had acknowledged our comments. But when lynus's thread was merged here, our comments (4 postings) were deleted or disappeared.
Anyway, this was in The Star - Malaysian MC spent RM2.03B with 22.7M transactions during the last Mega Sale. That means the average transaction was RM89.42. |
