Stock simulator? You mean stock game? Can try out iTrade CIMB. My ranking was screwed since IRIS designated. laugh.gif
I'm looking forward to open a CDS account as well...but look at the CI recently dropped tremendously, don't feel like it's good time to trade atm. Maybe after the worldcup tongue.gif

That one is not a game right ?

Anyone know about stock simulator which deals with virtual $$ to play. It's a game but based on the realistic stock market of KLSE.

The one i knew is stockk.com but it's been down. There are some games about NYSE but i have no knowledge regarding US stocks/companies. I think it's easier for me to pick up from KLSE.

I used to play with TheStar punya Marketwatch online portfolio, but damn tipu one lah, u can sell at any price and it's immediate (there's no sell queue or buy queue), I can simply buy Genting's share for the current price and sell it for RM 500 per share (manually entered) and make tonnes of virtual money LOL

Although virtual stock trading might be a good way to gain some experience in share investment, game still is a game, when you are dealing with huge chunk of money (hard-earned), then it is a bit different.
You can simply buy any stock in the virtual game, if turns out the share decline and loss then you can simply said, oopps I make a mistake. But in real money trade, it might mean ten or hundred of thousand of loss just because the mistake.

When buying or investing a particular stock (for long term), a lot of consideration needs to be well studied eg. valuation, PE ratio, company prospect, yield, interest rate effect, management, healthy cash flow, etc. in order to justify your investment whether worth it or not. If the the share returns can't outperform interest rate then better save it in the bank with minimal risk. (It is part of reason share plunged so much recently because US and others countries raise their interest rate which make share less attractive)

But when trading 'goreng' stock then it is different story already, it is some sort like hit and run, gain enough must run, never hold this kind of stock for long term.

PS: Game still is a game, never treat real hard-earned money into a game play. If treat it like game, it is no different with gambling.

Even though it is simulator, I believe one can learn many things about trading. rclxms.gif
One reminder is to use the exact amount of cash you will put up if you are doing it for real. For example if you have RM 10000 then use it as your starting capital in the portfolio.

According to bursamalaysia, a security is sold to the highest bidder and purchased from the lowest offeror.
For example, A and B are orange seller in a pasar malam. A sells at RM0.90 per unit, while B sells at RM1.00 per unit. So to us as consumer, A gives us the best offer and hence RM0.90 is the Best sell price.
Now C and D want to buy orange from A, C willing to pay RM0.80, while D tries nego at RM0.70. If you are the seller A, which buyer will you deal with? Of course the best bidder a.k.a Best buy - C.
Hopefully this orange trade will give you some idea. There are 2nd Sell, 3rd Sell til N Sell as well as 2nd Buy, 3rd Buy and etc... smile.gif

there are two methods when it comes to trading futures.Fundamental and technical analysis. The fundamental method involves reading news, studying the background of companies that will move the index, make decisions upon the release of some reports and statistics. While the technical method involves studying the price charts, and it is as simple as that.Basically technical analysis is to predict the future by judging the performance of the company/index in the past.In the futures market,it is highly recommended that traders to use technical analysis, because it requires less work, easier and accurate too compared to fundamental,.

In futures you get to profit from both sides.Unlike stocks, you could only "long" or buy and make money when the price of the particular stock rises. For futures, you could not only do that, you could short sell and make money when the price is falling down.

theoretically, that is how short selling works. You borrow, then you sell and in the end you buy back.

but lets make it plain and simple, short selling is opposite of buying/long.
In a long position, you make money when they price goes up.In an inverse order, short is where you make money when the price goes down(provided you are holding a short position)

short selling in the futures market is a bit different from stocks(local).
In the futures market, the process is very easy and could be done swiftly.Just like a normal buying order, you just tell your broker you wish to enter a short position, and your broker will queue your position at your desired price and wait for it to be done. When you think you had made enough money or wished to cut loss, just tell your broker to buy back/close your short position.

does anyone know of any free live charts to KLSe?

OSK188 does provide live charts but with a monthly fee, i'm just a student, can't really afford to commit to a monthly fee just for a live chart.
