Not yet since I wont be using the V131.

But my future notebook, I really want a mini-Sata port. Most Business laptop has those, I think V131 has that too. Then, I can buy 1 of those small 64GB mini sata SSD (size of a memory card) and slot it in. Will install all my OS and important applications there. VMware, games all from the original HDD...

I was thinking since some V131 has WWAN option, there must be a slot? My friend just brought a mSATA from ebay and plugged that into his X220. He told me the slot was meant for the WWAN but he can use for mSATA instead...

Possible?

The biggest drawback is without USB3.0. With USB3.0, there is an option to replace your HDD with a small SSD, and use USB for other storage. USB 3.0 allow almost full speed of HDD without bottleneck...

So, are you sure?
*
I don't really mind not having USB 3.0... The HDD slot if I am not mistaken is 1.8inch one... I think 1.8inch SSD's cost more? So don't think I would need to invest in a SSD so soon lar...

But what do u think of the price? How much is Malaysia selling it?

Oh I think the specs is similar to the E120 in Malaysia.. Malaysia seems to more expensive, the one with W7HP is rm1999, and no customizations

From this spec, got these info:

Weight 1.69kg and Height 24mm.

So, it's not as thin as V131, but a little lighter. There is a discrete GPU (HD 6470M). This is a low end GPU, so, you cant really play game with it, I would these GPU are useless. Sony screen should be much better. The HDD is slower at 5400 RPM. I think there is a DVD.

For a non-gaming notebook, I'd try to avoid any discrete GPU since I already have HD3000. It suck battery and generate more heat.

The gpu can switch. stamina mode=hd3000, speed mode=HD 6470M. rclxms.gif

i like the idea of extended battery sheet. Double the time(although a little bulky) and can b charge separately.

nice spec too. juz prob when in max performance the fan is noisy and hot. I can tolerate that.

but i dunno know... perhaps simpler is better, less room for error hmm.gif

Added on August 24, 2011, 9:47 amand since it is a sony brand, they got sony ericsson phone, can they prebundled a wwan card inside the lappy? vostro only have slot, but no wwan card. need to get from outsider which is a little risky

HD6470 is a "speed mode" over HD3000?
They are quite close in speed.

i'm not sure about the name of the model. they got plenty sb16, sb18, sb19 and many more. But yup vaio s has sim card slot beneath the lappy. I've checked the manual, it stated there. Plus there's a review about it.
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Sony-V...ok.58359.0.html

But this one SA (high end), SB also got sb26, sb28, sb29. Damn y did their name so confusing rclxub.gif . More research need to b done.

Correct me if i'm wrong notworthy.gif

I have seen SB16 personally, the sim card slot is not there, there nothing to open at that spot..

Basically, the higher number has higher spec, 16,18,19. Newer batch, 26,28,29..

Erm... The sim slot perhaps in other model such as sb26, but not sure, i'm still researching. I'll let people know when i'm done.

but still...can't beat v131 in term of battery life without the battery sheet

AMD/ATI does not have better driver.
But it does have better implementation of AA/AF and thus better IQ in games.
For video (assuming you're referring to 1080p content playback), I doubt you'll see difference.
