IF backlid keyboard is very important to you, try considering the Dell Vostro 3350 instead Yup, very important. I've done my research for every laptop that ever existed thats have backlit kb. Vostro v131 is my winner Added on August 21, 2011, 1:58 pmEh This post has been edited by aie.unwell: Aug 21 2011, 01:58 PM |

QUOTE(cowithgun @ Aug 21 2011, 03:22 PM) having same problem as u. no option to select backlit. not even when using SG site. apparently, only the US website has the backlit by default. the options in Dell website changed a little over time. there is no longer option for i5! yeah, i noticed that too. I hope through call can solve it. But after consider it for a while. I think i'll juz wait a little longer. Myb there will b better customization in the future. Perhaps a SSD.instead of order online, you should really call the 1800-333-1888. i call and get a free bag For the mean time, i'll juz satisfy my desire by watching review, hands-on and unboxing |

QUOTE(cowithgun @ Aug 24 2011, 08:47 AM) From this spec, got these info: The gpu can switch. stamina mode=hd3000, speed mode=HD 6470M. Weight 1.69kg and Height 24mm. So, it's not as thin as V131, but a little lighter. There is a discrete GPU (HD 6470M). This is a low end GPU, so, you cant really play game with it, I would these GPU are useless. Sony screen should be much better. The HDD is slower at 5400 RPM. I think there is a DVD. For a non-gaming notebook, I'd try to avoid any discrete GPU since I already have HD3000. It suck battery and generate more heat. i like the idea of extended battery sheet. Double the time(although a little bulky) and can b charge separately. nice spec too. juz prob when in max performance the fan is noisy and hot. I can tolerate that. but i dunno know... perhaps simpler is better, less room for error Added on August 24, 2011, 9:47 amand since it is a sony brand, they got sony ericsson phone, can they prebundled a wwan card inside the lappy? vostro only have slot, but no wwan card. need to get from outsider which is a little risky Added on August 24, 2011, 9:48 amand since it is a sony brand, they got sony ericsson phone, can they prebundled a wwan card inside the lappy? vostro only have slot, but no wwan card. need to get from outsider which is a little risky This post has been edited by aie.unwell: Aug 24 2011, 09:48 AM |

QUOTE(lee_what2004 @ Aug 24 2011, 09:56 AM) i'm not sure about the name of the model. they got plenty sb16, sb18, sb19 and many more. But yup vaio s has sim card slot beneath the lappy. I've checked the manual, it stated there. Plus there's a review about it.http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Sony-V...ok.58359.0.html But this one SA (high end), SB also got sb26, sb28, sb29. Damn y did their name so confusing Correct me if i'm wrong This post has been edited by aie.unwell: Aug 24 2011, 11:14 AM |

QUOTE(lee_what2004 @ Aug 24 2011, 11:14 AM) Erm... The sim slot perhaps in other model such as sb26, but not sure, i'm still researching. I'll let people know when i'm done.but still...can't beat v131 in term of battery life without the battery sheet This post has been edited by aie.unwell: Aug 24 2011, 11:38 AM |
