As per topic. I'll edit this post to summarize the thread. Please share your knowledge! notworthy.gif

I'll start..

Facts:
- Taking whey protein doesnt mean you'll grow. Not taking whey protein doesnt mean you'll not grow.
- No pain no gain
- Lift Heavy!
- Eat More, my girlfriend eats more than you
- Focus On Compound Exercises.
- Make sure u sleep enough, bodybuilding = recovery = bodybuilding
- Muscles are built outside the gym

Advises:
- The best activities for your health are pumping and humping
- Consistency and Variations are 2 contradictions that you must practice in training
- Don't post an e-stat on forums and expect people to believe you without proof of video/pics. Grow up.
- Same like girls, we don't have good day everyday (LOL)
- Pick up after yourself at the gym, wipe the bench, rerack DB's, keep away weights once you're done with them.
- Motivation is what gets you started, habit is what keeps you going. stick to your routines!

General quotes on weightlifting and life:
- try and you may not fail, dont try you already fail
- If the only tool at your disposal is a hammer, treat everything like a nail
- With muscles, as with everything else, in union there is strength
- if you fail to plan, you plan to fail
- Impatiently rushing produces no result
- If you can't make it good, at least made it look good
- Iron never lies to you
- Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.
- If you THINK you are tired, you are NOT. You KNOW when you are really tired.
- In the gym, the only person you need to beat is yourself.
- Everybody wants to be a bodybuilder but nobody wants to lift no heavy ass weights

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Some got nothing to do with BB, but if you relate them to BB, they meant everything.

True in the sense that bodybuilders care more for aesthetics than strength/function and vice versa for powerlifters. But to put bodybuilders in the 'weak' category is wrong, IMO. Take a look at darklight, he's lifting light weight all the time, 300-odd lbs light. laugh.gif

good for you. rclxms.gif somehow i think i lack the mental strength to continue lifting when fatigue steps in. the fear of injuring myself limits my effort especially during the last few sets.

k guys, we've gathered quite a bit of quotes already, so try to minimize on those. whats lacking are real life experience and advice that you practice at YOUR gym that you think would be beneficial for others to follow.

Real life experiences?

Prepare and deal with injuries.Don't back off when you face injuries, take some time to recover and go all out again.

(p/s: I've gained 3kgs since back injured and stop majority of workouts for almost a month. Mostly fats though. But glad enough that I still have the same waistline, arm measurement. But my legs' muscles are losing their definition.(Quads may get back into one piece all over again)ZZZ...)
