Hi, after upgraded to Anna installed the 4 updates in SW Updates,
I found some questions.

1. The WiFi will not connect automatically anymore, everytime when I wanna sync my email, i have to connect at WLAN there first only I can sync my mail, did I miss any setting?

2. The WiFi will turn off automatically after idle for maybe 1 or 2 minutes, and after that, I've to reconnect it manually in order to sync my 2nd or 3rd mail account.

3. It has horizontal QWERTY like I-Phone or not?

1&2. TBH, my wifi still reconnecting like usual. Maybe you can check your destinations in your connectivity setting, and add your wifi AP.

3. YES, it have horizontal qwerty.


For those who felt that the portrait qwerty is too small, I'd suggest installing Swype from Ovi Store. Much better keyboard provided, even if you didn't use the swipe gestures. The only downside, there is no T9 keyboard.

And I checked my SW Update, but there is no camera update available for download. Did you guys download it from somewhere else?

And I think my N8 is due for a hard reset. Only 28.8MB free memory available in C, and I dunno what filling it. As what I learned from using my N97 before, little free memory on C = Disaster waiting to happen.

Guys, I cannot connect to Wimax. It can see the connection, but when I click on connect, put the password, it says connecting, after a bout 2 seconds, it says connection unavailable. Has this anything go to do with wimax being 4g and N8 unable to support that? Correct me if I'm wrong...

Without installation of any additional apps, my N8 free RAM drops from 170MB to 120MB with Anna. You are in worst shape than I can possibly imagine. Sure you didn't install any apps?

I think he meant disc space on C... Not RAM.. Mine is around 73mb, and RAM drop from 130mb on pr1.1 to about 111mb on Anna...

I am refering to the C:phone memory. Symbian3 was 170MB free. Anna was 120MB free. All before installing any apps.

Sifus, I already downgrade. Now on my ovi suite, i can see the 2 symbian anna update 1/2 and 2/2. But update fail wor... Do I have to do it OTA? (No wifi) T_T

I got mine from Nokia Beta Labs website. The software is called "camera update for N8"

I installed PocketLock and it does work pretty well and does not seem to suck battery. If I didn't lock the phone and put into pocket, it will sure unintentionally activate somethings that I didn't want to. Now problem solved. And everytime I take the phone out of my pocket, it's automatically activated for use. If left on table and time out and lock, all I have to do is pick the phone up and it's activated (during picking up of phone, hand sure move pass the proximity sensor). Now this is what I call Smart Phone. LOL.


As for battery, I am pretty impressed with the N8 so far. For example, for the past 12 hours with Power Save activated, I have:

1. Transfer files using Bluetooth for 25 minutes
2. Surf for 10 mins.
3. Phone calls for about 30 minutes.
4. Was in area with no or low signal strength for about 1.5 hours.
5. Taken 7 photos with 2 of which using flash close range.
6. GPS 3 minutes.

12 hours later, the battery is still at full bars.


Just after I finished typing, it dropped it's 1st bar.

quite annoying app IMO. sometimes when you play games on the phone, it will automatically lock it. Well you can turn it off la, but it totally defeats the idea of "automatic".

When you want to play game, you should deactivate it. For normal use, activate it. I don't see any problem with that.

i still can't find the portrait qwerty, can anyone teach me pls? :-(
