what guy, what story?
*
well, a guy offered to buy my waja last time. he said it was better than his 1.8 civic year 2007 in term of handling and power. barely lose out on nvh due to bad door closing sound(worn out rubber). i was reluctant to let it go.
the other day he come back and tabled a higher offer. kinda tempted...if the deal go through, i can goodbye to waja thread already.

shiyau@
just drain out the atf completely and replaced with fresh atf. it will be just fine. if problem persist, you should 3bond with ThunderGod_Cid@ elton.
my friend's waja used to be sluggish, after a 3bond, he told me it even changed gear at 6.5k rpm which is fine for auto!

more power and better handling? your car stock or modded? 102bhp vs 140bhp weyh rclxub.gif

in terms of handling, the civic should be better right since it have a stiffer suspension setup also. Only thing i noticed was that my Waja's ride is plusher than my mom's Civic since its riding on softer suspension setup laugh.gif
*
i am using a lousy 'rojak' engine on my few rides smile.gif . my waja does not have any body kit. is only made up of 4g93t block pair with 4g92 top with custom dual rail fuel link.
as for the handling, all round pu bushes sitting on a lousy apm performax setup. no chassis spot welding.
so, nothing to shout about.

QUOTE(TripleJ104 @ Oct 1 2011, 10:41 PM)
Sad woorr, Waja thread will lose another old timer member.
*
lol! i am still around.
after so much effort / time and money spend on ride enhancement, kinda reluctant to let my waja go.
anyway, my 6 cylinder 'rojak' engine project is already bearing some fruit. it may take some pain off seeing my waja go.

stock waja 1.6 doesn't need a platinum fushion spark plug. the g-power will be just nice.
as for the simota, i will avoid a 100% steel mesh filter. they do give more ooomph' but filtration is bad for the engine in
the long run. get the k&n or one in garage sales by maddriver@bernard.

mxsteven@
what is the projected whp of your monster ride? brows.gif

I dont expect much hahaha... anyway i expect reliability @ 1 bar boost maybe 285WHP-300WHP... the most important is the torque i wanted is 400nm@4k RPM
*
that was a hell of a power output from a modded 4g18! whp some more brows.gif
even my 6 cylinder project with 2jz block is barely reaching 583nm.

the 'g' isn't as bad as driving a meritus gp2 machine.
and since car is mean more of a street machine, am happy with the outcome. one final tuning and am done with it.
btw, 1.5 bottle of bosch dot is enough for brake bleeding.

mxsteven@
with forged internal parts on 4g18p, sub 200whp should be okay.

mrsafwan@
waja is indeed a good handling car. even more with suspension tweaks.

Hi bro, y wanna swap the 3 point bar?

Any bad effects?
*
none. been using it for more than a year.
in fact, my lousy waja is on all round bar. just that i need the 2 size 12 holes on the firewall which was occupied by the 3 point bar for extra final project and am done.

QUOTE(Nightstalker1993 @ Oct 10 2011, 04:42 PM)
btw guys, speaking of battery, wondering is it worth getting a voltage stabiliser? Is the effects that noticeable as claimed in all the sales thread? blink.gif
*
mostly placebo effect. get a cheap one with voltage indicator. so that you will be able to monitor the the battery voltage.
else, a simple but properly done grounding and choice of good cables will be just fine. grounding point at engine and alternator, also spark plug, throttle body and gearbox to + terminal and grounding is fine. some may require left and right grounding point thou.
effect ; smoother operation of electronic thing.

Nightstalker1993@
from my experience. i does.
and the vs+grounding that goes straight into the engine bay are much better than those hopeless
plug-in into 12v socket type.
elton's vs is definitely worth it. you may ask him to do the grounding as well brows.gif
btw, sun auto and guangdao are 2 brand that i'm still using in my both ride simply because of the slight increased in my car's dyno result. not to mentioned the smoother electronic operation.

ThunderGod_Cid@
those vs which was installed into the engine bay complete with grounding points is definitely works into some extend.
or else, they will not giving an increased dyno reading as in the case of both of my rides which was installed with sun auto and guangdao brand respectively. with dyno chart done before and after installation.
vs will increased the electrical functionality but fc and acceleration gain is almost like placebo effect. unless the product comes from a result of extensive r&d.
i've tested a few 'el cheapo' china brand (product without extensive r&d) and the effect on fc and acceleration are mostly placebo; where the engine 'feels' lighter' after installation. 'feels' and dyno chart are a world apart tongue.gif

ahah me too searching for good alignment n balancing shop.. in between cheras and kajang.
*
for alignment, nothing beat the manual alignment. i've had posted in other tread about the
tires shop in balakong @ cheras batu 11 area. ah man tires with silverstone motorsport board located exactly
opposite the jusco cheras selatan. it may takes more than 1 hour but the result is good.
i used to send my sixers' touge ride for alignment. and the result never disappoint.
price vary from 3x to 1xx bucks.
other good alignment that i ever went to is kee hin in old klang road.
so far, the rest of the tires shop are more interested in milking' client's money. with unsatisfactory end result.

how is waja's ride?
gud handling?
power wise?
*
ride is fine for a proton car. the waja 4g18 lose out to the campro version in term of nvh but it made up for
the lower rpm torque availability and not at higher rpm as those of campro.
handling is actually one of the waja's biggest advantage. the multi-link rear with arb could take any punishment.
just make sure to choose a good set of tyres.
as for the power, the 1.6 sohc is barely enough to haul the car. for those with bigger balls, good enough
to reach 193km/h. waja 4g18 auto return about 650km on full tank.

dares@
try bengkel kereta wong in taman maluri. located at the same row with am bank behind jusco. with hi-rev signboard.
look for mr.wong. i used to send my car over there while i was still on stock engine.

1. most probably its the wiring problem(terminal head included). even if the alternator is faulty, the engine would crank up if there is enough power from the battery.
btw, when you mentioned about 'black out', does your alarm trigger? if not, you may check the starter / alternator as well.

2. what is your mileage? if its more than 100k km, stick to 10w-40 semi synthetic. no point going for
full synthetic. it may increased your fc due to worn out engine internals.

Nightstalker1993@
a case of opening the door while it was locked. worn out handle.

mine cost around 1.3k including installation. all round arm, arb bushes and steering bush.
handling increased big time. better response during speedy lane changing.
for engine and gearbox mounting, especially on waja auto, its advisable
to use the original proton mounting bushes due to superior noise and vibration filtering.
unless those pu bushes mounting has and oil filling, then, i might consider them.

LazyKurosaki@
roadtax cost around 90 bucks per year. insurance will much depend on the car's current market price.
which should be around 7xx for yours inclusive of windscreen insurance.

the pu bushes was supposed to last the car's lifetime. fyi, my steering still feels very tight and responsive
after more than 2 years on pu bushes. free play is less than 1". solid handling all round too.
much depend on the arms condition. the lower arm has a bearing in it. so, if the bearing worn out, it's a wise decision to change the lower arm to new one and get the stock bushes replaced with pu. i sold the new stock bushes to a friend.

btw, a set of 3 pu bushes on lower arm is more expensive than original proton lower arm with bushes,
so, you do the math.

my waja is doing an average about 0.20c/km or roughly around 7.x/100km. running on ron97 with
boost kept at low 0.6 bar. 90% town driving by my sister. less high rev.
before engine change, it used to be around 0.16c/km or 8.xkm/100km on ron95. close to 80% town ride by myself.
conclusion ; turbo engine increased the car's power to weight ratio and the rest is fun! just ask steven tongue.gif
only drawback is that at 583nm of torque on my wangan ride(not waja), the idle engine sound is so annoying those passer by will just laugh at it as of a 'farted sound...dang!
