Itz a pity Alan Tan lost in his last match. It was a close 1.
But he got a consolation prize, he won his 1st tv match against strickland. Good job. Prickland, was as usual with his antics and arogance.
But I still like watching him instead of stupid charlie william.
I hope to see more plays from alan next year.

ESPN WAS STUPID!. They should have show the last rack between strickland and alan, but the showed like 5~6 ads to waste several minutes and make way for sportcenter malaysia.

Cmon, the news in sportscenter are yesterdays news which we all can get in the internet or papers! They have the 730PM edition, so y have to have 2 same shows?
*
hey man, so alan tan won the final rack to beat strickland eh??

i was so pissed with ESPN.. alan was leading 8-2 and suddenly they decided to show countless ads and before you knew it, blardy sportscenter malaysia was screened! and the damn show is a recorded one too.. really wanted to watch that last rack..

btw, what was strickland moaning about?? i kept hearing him complain to the ref about the table not being PRO standards.. (pockets are too big, carpet not fast enough).. i heard the other american guy complain about the pockets being the biggest he's ever seen too..

the riley cue which attracts me is the RIL-850 , but not sure how long is appears on the market .... and i think i did not see it at Cue Station @ BTS.

for BCE , i think most of the cue are endorsed by famous snooker player like Marco Fu , Ronnie O'Sullivan , and bla bla bla ..... hehe ... i duwan signature on the cue ... lol but no one in malaysia carries the cue also ler
*
yup..but they don't use it..just endorsed..

i last heard ronnie is now using a custom handmade o'min done to the spec of his john parris..

Yeah, alan won, but he lost the next 2 matches. I was really surprised how alan played in that match, he was real good! thumbup.gif notworthy.gif
I thought he will win the next match ( against petroni ) but he lost , he look tired lar , no stim cool2.gif
strickland was ok, i think he did control his temper in that game, compared to the match between him and Li he wen.
I didnt watch that 1, cos itz kinda late. I heard he knocked him cue shaft onto the referee head in one game! rclxms.gif doh.gif

Strickland was fun to watch, he is entertaining compared to Charlie william.
Tat burldy korean was VERY slow. I have never see such player playing tat slow. I remember Dan basavich was slow ( but he's funny lar ), tis bugger is even slower! He thinks he a real big time pro, taking his sweet time looking and getting around the table. He even wiped his shaft ( at least twice ) before each shot! I really pity him opponnet.

Anyone know the procedure to service snooker cue? Mine is becoming a bit rough. Normally new cue is kinda shiny but mine lost the gloss. Feel a bit weird, cos when you aiming, the cue kinda not smooth.

that's because u don't maintain your cue...

after every play you should wipe down your cue with a dry cloth..

every week you should wipe down your cue with a slightly damp cloth then quickly buff with a dry cloth..

every month or so you should wipe down your cue with linseed oil to maintain the shine...but there are spray products now that you can spray on to clean, polish and apply an area of protector that you can buy..its around RM60 per bottle...

Haha, i only wipe it with a cloth each time before and after using.
After sometime, it sort of become greenish.

Actually I always wipe with clean dry cloth even when playing. The reason should be I don't cleanse the cue with linseed oil.
Anyway thanks for the explanation. notworthy.gif

not only the linseed oil..

chalk deposits in the cue surfaces can cause it to lose shine too..and you'll get a tinge of green or blue on the cue...

do wipe with a slightly damp cloth...dry cloth is not enough..

Hey all,

I'm new to the game and I have a question on how to maintain the snooker balls. It seems that mine has lost its shine.

What should I use? A wax of somekind??

thanks
