QUOTE(shanelai @ Aug 12 2009, 05:26 PM) Ic.. Why dont she try to apply other bank BT? although it is higher but it is definitely lower than CC interest right? Standchart & RHB is balance transfer. But their rates is higher compared to Maybank. So she thought of merging 2creditcards into this Maybank so she no need to travel 2banks everymonth just to pay off the debts.

Hi,
I am currently a CIMB Direct Access Mastercard holder with outstanding of about 11k. Is it possible to do a Balance Transfer with the entire outstanding from this credit card to a new Petronas CIMB Mastercard? Yes I know it is the same bank, but it is convenient for me.
My problem is the compounding interest finance charges of about RM150 every month, think it is such a waste to pay for this every single month. I also would like to achieve a bit of financial independence of this debt by March next year.

Try Public Bank with one time admin charges. The BT amount will be repaid in equal repayment over the choosen period. http://www.pbebank.com/en/en_content/personal/cards/bt8.html

If you are able to settle 11k by March next year, then you are not paying RM150 every month. The interest will be less than that figure but the problem is are you able to settle it in that period? If yes then you could try with Public Bank balance transfer which charge you 1.5% for 6 months installments. RM165 interest for 6 months.

True but I noticed that Citibank suddenly change my credit limit for both cards. I don't know how they manage it but it's kind of shocking.
