hmmm cabaye commented on the drinking habits of some newcastle players

hope it wont affect the team negatively

Hahaha, I don't think the rest will be taken aback by his remarks since he's still getting used to the English culture

looks like Ben Arfa is going to start tonight at Ewood, we're having 3,500 away fans there for a Carling Cup match lol...

I was really looking forward to the match when the draw was made..but with the possiblity of playing Elliot in goal, Perch at the back Smith in midfield and Lovenkrands up front, I'm not as confident now..

Just hoping Steve Kean puts out a reserve side coz they got a big game at the weekend againts Norwich..howver. Kean might play a strong team too considering ge is under huge pressure to get the team some kind of win..

Hope we can get a win and get a good and nice draw for the quarter finals..just avoid Man City, Man Utd and Arsenal..let them knock themselves out..hehe

technically we're still unbeaten after 90 mins, hope this serves as a wake up call to players who are taking it for granted, they need to realize that there'll be tougher times ahead and work extra hard to prepare for those, although we lost the game but my word, what a game it was, we should be proud of the comeback although we still lost the game. The lads showed tremendous character to keep working away late in the match. Though we lost but am still proud of the spirit we showed

Not gutted that we're out of the cup at this stage but am gutted being knocked out by Blackburn, no disrespect to them but we should be able beat them given their current form and all the unrest around the club. However, on the positive side, this gives us a chance to shift our attention and our paper thin squad towards the league which should be the main priority, we're almost halfway there towards the magical 40 point mark and its still only October.

One can dream but its best to be realistic that we have some tough fixtures coming up and it will be great to be able to just put some points on the board. Finally, howay the lads...looks like we're back to being the entertainers again, never a dull moment huh

"The West Yorkshire official had denied United at least three penalties before his linesman gave the one that Lovenkrands converted and there were question marks over other crucial decisions that went the home side's way."

"Referee Madley missed the most blatant of penalties after what looked to be some penalty-area basketball before finally awarding United a spot-kick that Lovenkrands calmly converted."

Still unbeaten in the league, and unbelievable that we managed to scored two goals in added time shocking.gif

Just saw the goals on Sky Sports News..to be fair, we weren't that great before the late goals..and we missed some guilt-end chances especially Ben Arfa and Marveaux who missed free headers that were easier to score than miss..

Still this is a different Newcastle team to the ones of recent season..the Never Give Up attitude of the players were clear for all to see and I bet there isnt one fan who woke up today that would be mad at the team for losing..yes we lost to Blackburn and they had a strong team out..any team with Christopher Samaba at the back is a hard team to crack..

Alan Pardew will have learnt a lot from this defeat now..he knows which player can be trusted to perform consistently and which ones cant..

We used up our lady luck at Scunthorpe, and Nottingham Forest in the earlier rounds and probably at Wolves too..so its our turn to feel the pain but I am proud of the players last night and so should every NUFC fan..we lost but we lost with pride and dignity..

HOWAY THE LADS!!!

We 'LOSE' at last sad.gif

Technically the game was a draw after 90 minutes..

I was surprised that we managed to get 2 goals in the last 10 minutes. I was working that time so i actually already gave up refreshing gamecast in soccernet to see the results by 80th minute...

Saw the goals and all the goals by BR came from set pieces. Without a big CB we are not able to defend those set pieces well. This makes our visit to Stoke much more 'scary' sweat.gif

Whatever it is, i am damn proud of the never say die attitude from our players biggrin.gif

Howay the lads.

Sorry but I don't buy that about Guthrie, he works hard I give him that, but class? really? perhaps if he is given a run at the centre of the pitch he might develop and fulfill his potential. But with Cabaye and Tiote, with the likes of Gosling for competition, but I do admit that Guthrie is really handy player to be having around the squad for depth. Not to mention the right frame of mind and attitude, great to have in the squad

yeah..nothing classy about Guthrie really..he's a good squad player..he needs time but he also has some lapse of concentration..I remember last season at West Brom where he was caught out and injured himeself..personally, I think he's got Gosling to fight with..and not to mention Abeid..a good goal last night..

N Cabaye is great at free kicks and corners..the only reason he took it last night though was because, Ryan Taylor 'over The Wall' wasnt on the pitch but would love Cabaye to take more.. thumbup.gif

I agree that we must have a winning mentality, let Stoke worry about how we play for a change, that said though, any sensible fan would be happy with a draw from the Britannia as its a really tough place to go and get anything out of.
