I think I found out what would cause memory leaks at the end of the day.
If doing: CODE echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches Solves this problem, it's due to vfs_cache_pressure being too low and dirty_ratio being too high. With that, I've updated the system_tweak yet again, with this knowledge by making the VM settings more aggressive, which will trigger the memory leak faster. I made this so, as there's a workaround to clear the caches when it gets full. Having a low vfs_cache_pressure and a high dirty_ratio will save battery and make your device perform faster at the cost of higher RAM usage. You can read more here: http://people.redhat.com/nhorman/papers/rhel4_vm.pdf The updated scripts: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...&postcount=3147 This post has been edited by pikachu01: Sep 16 2011, 09:41 PM |

Check out ElinRom Odexed. Not getting any problems so far as it's the least modified odexed ROM I found.
Edit: Oh and guys, I always remove useless system apps after every flash. You should do that too (or freeze them using System Tuner) This post has been edited by pikachu01: Sep 17 2011, 10:07 PM |

Hmm, I would need to prepare a list of apps I disable. Let me compile it and post it in XDA. I use BetterBatteryStats to show me what's draining the battery.

Updated the screenstate_scaling script. Check my sig.
Edit: The bigmem version offers more RAM at the expense of 720p recording. How you want to use that extra RAM, is to your liking This post has been edited by pikachu01: Sep 18 2011, 02:31 AM |

QUOTE(gajahwhite @ Sep 18 2011, 03:45 AM) Yeah, you can configure ZRAM/Swap using my MemoryFreak settings in my sig. Also check out Zach's scripts which I've modified to work well with Talon. You can see the before/after of the script if you try to use Talon for a few days then flash the script. It's a really big difference QUOTE(ahhon83 @ Sep 18 2011, 07:39 AM) I use system panel as well. Installed betterbatterystats last night and below are 2 screenshots after i woke up. Battery drained 28%, almost 30% similar to yesterday case, after i uninstall few apps. It seems that your phone is polling for your location every few mins that drains the battery. I can see partial wakelocks are the main cause of your battery drain.Bro, is the network-location 8.9% means battery used 8.9%? Are you signed into lattitude? Or using an app that checks you in automatically? |

Hey guys,
I've posted the list of safe system apps I removed/frozen so that you will get minimal battery drain: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...02#post17644102 I've also included some tweaks/tips on how to make your android perform faster/less battery draining. Added on September 18, 2011, 3:32 pm QUOTE(ahhon83 @ Sep 18 2011, 12:16 PM) Yalor, bro,you are right! Latitude signed in,i nvr join in but somehow it did. Can i remove latitude? It is useless,i only use the map n navi, but no latitude. What is the latitude function actually? Lattitude is used to check in automatically to a place. You can then use the Lattitude API to check in foursquare etc. Don't think you can remove lattitude. It's built into Maps.Let's see how much battery drain tonight without latitude. Thx bro!!!!. CM7 is known to drain more battery than Samsung Roms. Removing maps is not a good idea. You'll face some FCs on some system APKs.
