I went to the UTP exhibition at KLCC today. And they said the chances to get into Chemical , Petroleum and mechanical engineering is quite hard. The minimum they take is 7a's but i did apply and waiting .. How about stpm guys? Is it better?

i said degree not foundation.

foundation = after you finish SPM straight coun. foundation at UTP (1year) + degree (4year)
Degree = Doing matriculation/STPM/ foundation outside UTP then apply degree in UTP

ya bro. i do know that. That is why i am thinking of taking foundation at Nottingham if i cant get in UTP and just countinue my degree there also.. And nottingham is recognised well right?

i dont know much about nottingham. But UTP graduate well known in OilnGas Industry...
Chance of working with your dream O&G company higher that other uni.
About nottingham, mybe u can check their alumni, how many % of their graduate get job and others...
I have friend currently study there. Multimedia course I think..

For the educamp, do they choose the date for you or you can choose which date to go?? it says on their website could be 19,20,21,22, i could be going to somewhr on 21st

Also, typically how many classes are there for eng foundation or tech foundation?

they will choose it for you..
i think diff. course. diff day

they distribute into course bro..
Foundation PE
Foundation EE
Foundation ME
Foundation IT&BIS (mix)
Foundation PGS

if i can't come that day can i move it to another day?

There are generally two kinds of foundations:
1. Foundation in Engineering (taken by ChE, PE, EE, ME, PGS, CV0
2. Foundation in Technology (taken by ICT, BIS)

but of course your schedule will be further separated into smaller parts, but the courses taken inside the foundation programs are the same, i.e. foundation in engineering all take the same subjects, foundation in technology all take the same subjects.

Hopefully in 5 years time M'sia still got lots of oil & Petronas is still one of the world top O & G company! Then I can still find job in O & G.
But it is really hard to enter UTP. I do know a fellow who score 9A+ but not even selected for interview for May 2014 intake!
He did get selected for Jan 2014 intake using pra result but he didn't got for the interview. Is it because of this he has no more chance???

of course laa still got bro..

I think closing date for interview is 10th april...students will be called after the closing date i guess...i have sent all the documents they asked...waiting for their call

2:in admission international students' applications race with malasyian students or international students have a percentage in the intake?
