Hmm I don't fancy the auto-switchable GPU, I will use manual anyway. Most probably 24/7 using the 6770 because I seldom use battery. So 6001tx doesn't have bluray hmm... Will think about that..

It's non glossy, at least for the black colour Beats headphone

As far as i know, 6114tx come with blue-ray drive and also auto-switchable GPU. Others all same with 6001tx smile.gif
*
Correction: 6114TX come with both auto and manual switching capability while 6001TX can use manual swithing only.

That one is graphic driver.

This: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp54001-54500/sp54024.exe is the BIOS update that will enable 6114TX and 6108TX to use either auto or manual switching.

hey guys..

im abit confused with the partitioning method using miniTool Partition Wizard

ive now the following drives : System, C: ( 684.49gb ), D:Recovery (13.85gb) and H: Hp Tools (102.87mb)

i wanna create a new partition of the C:/ drive...reduce it to 150gb and use the rest as my other drive where I put all my files in..I dont wanna delete/mess around with the other Recovery and Hp Tools

So..do i just click on the C: drive in partitionWizard and click on "Move/Resize Partition" option on the left ?

I think got 1 or 2 screws and another 2 on the fan. You don't need to take out the USB module.. just need to disconnect the cable.

Thanks for the advice and guidance.
I have just finish reapplying new thermal paste. It took me about 2.5 hours. Good news is I able to reassemble it back without any extra screw and the laptop work flawlessly. The bad news, I have broken a tiny piece of plastic frame that used to hold the HDMI connector in place. Luckily the majority of the plastic frame (~90%) is still intact. Temp drop a bit (not significant) but at least it didn't go over 90C on IBT.

p/s: Now I know what a ZIF is. Almost damage the keyboard connector when I forcefully pull it out from the ZIF socket. sweat.gif

You guys really courageous warriors la... me no courage to do that... cry.gif cry.gif
Can i bring my dv6 to HP centre for them to reapply for me? icon_question.gif

No choice. If sent to HP, it may end up the same as before for the thermal paste application and may take some time. Besides I have some thermal paste left and want to know better the internal structure of this laptop. nod.gif

Did you enable the Beat System, aka fn + B ? Under normal condition, only 2 speaker will produce sound, but when the Beats system is enable, all the 4 speaker will produce sound.

Anyway, congrats on your success Efalex!

First, you need to know that the computer can only have either 4 "primary" partition or 3 "primary" + XX number of logical partitions.
By default, our notebook is already full with 4 "primary" partitions, namely the system, C:, D:Recovery and HP_Tools.

If you want to repartition your C: drive, you need to first change D:Recovery drive to logical or delete it, dont delete systems (contain bootloader) and HP_Tools...
Then you shrink the C: drive while it is still "primary", dont change it to logical, it will not boot... experienced it beforehand.
Then your remaining spaces would be logical and the new drives that you created would be ALL logical drives....
So in the end, you will have System (primary), C:(primary), D:Recovery(logical, or deleted it), HP_Tools (primary) and others logical (the new partitons that you created)
