The temp look OK, but your speed is insane. Even my 2720QM can't reach that speed... cry.gif
Acid, how long do you need to change the thermal paste (Including the dissambling and assembling the laptop). Any special tips regarding which part is tricky and need extra care. Watching the video on the first page few times but still feel discourage by the number of screws and parts & connectors we'll need to take out... shocking.gif

Check if your CPU is throttled. tongue.gif

The only thing that still scare me is when u flex out the base cover to make clearance to the connectors on the left side of the mobo. Other than that is still manageable.

I opened the mobo again yesterday for the 3rd times and it only takes under 1 hour to complete. Without looking at the manual at all. brows.gif

Basically u need to:
1) remove the components and wires.
2) push the keyboard from bottom and remove it.
3) disconnect the zif connectors on top cover.
4) pry out the top cover.
5) remove the zif connector and power cable from motherboard.
6) remove LCD, fan and bluetooth connector and unscrew the fan.
7) flex the left side of the base cover and pull the mobo out from the base cover.
8) unscrew the HSF and reapply the thermal compound.
9) reverse everything.

my only failure so far is that, now i got 1 extra screw which i don't know where it come from. sweat.gif

If you check the Manual.. to remove system board you need to:

QUOTE
● Remove the battery (see Battery on page 59)
● Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 60)
● Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 62)
● WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 67)
● Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 70)
● Top cover (see Top cover on page 74)

The disassemble video on front page is totally different for my model. sweat.gif

So the motherboard were not screwed to the base? And do you need to take out the USB connector like in the video? I might have to apply a new thermal paste, since my CPU temp can reach 93-94C. About the extra screw, I sure it won't cause any problem as I have the same situation when the Dell technician comes to replace my laptop's motherboard last time.

The max GFlop for my laptop is around 52-54 while under throttle, mostly in the range of 42-48.

I think got 1 or 2 screws and another 2 on the fan. You don't need to take out the USB module.. just need to disconnect the cable.

Thanks for the advice and guidance.
I have just finish reapplying new thermal paste. It took me about 2.5 hours. Good news is I able to reassemble it back without any extra screw and the laptop work flawlessly. The bad news, I have broken a tiny piece of plastic frame that used to hold the HDMI connector in place. Luckily the majority of the plastic frame (~90%) is still intact. Temp drop a bit (not significant) but at least it didn't go over 90C on IBT.

p/s: Now I know what a ZIF is. Almost damage the keyboard connector when I forcefully pull it out from the ZIF socket. sweat.gif

It will be quite hard for this model. If the model is 6001tx then shouldnt be any problem

As far as i know, 6114tx come with blue-ray drive and also auto-switchable GPU. Others all same with 6001tx smile.gif

Hmm I don't fancy the auto-switchable GPU, I will use manual anyway. Most probably 24/7 using the 6770 because I seldom use battery. So 6001tx doesn't have bluray hmm... Will think about that..
