If our TM nut can provide stable and fast internet connection then the always online DRM is not an issue but the fact is you know how bad tm nut is, it's quite unfair to user who have bad internet connectivity like us considering that the server is located in the US.....I don't mind they do a data checking/verifying everytime but don't need to always online like playing an online game...

I know you bought it, but its still kind of unfair to Blizzard, as you are still indirectly supporting those pirates. They are the ones who are ruining the industry.

However, i think SC2 has a reasonable reason for online only as the game sucks if you play offline. The AI is garbage and the campaign will be boring after you beat it once. You would probably play online anyway to enjoy the game.

IMO, Diablo 3 should have some sort of offline play allowed, as its rather annoying if the game cuts you off when you dc. I know i only want to solo the first time round when i play the game, after that, i'll just coop with random pubs or friends. Its difficult to play with friends if you want to slowly enjoy the story and atmosphere of the game. I dont mind if they made the offline character could not go online in any way.

You can see here, how intrusive Diablo 3's DRM can be once you disconnect.

Even if the server is at Singapore, but that does not guarantee that the game will not disconnect. Either by Blizzard servers or your internet connection.

I m guessing you dont play SC2 sad.gif , yeah i know there is no guarantee. But so far I have no issue with TM or Blizz servers, besides the underwater cables that broke a few years back, I have no issue with TM. But ever since Blizz put servers in SEA, I had no issue with it smile.gif

Even servers in TW no issue. But servers over at US need to go through vpn for stable latency.

I played SC2 for a while and it still lags and disconnects due to internet issues or Blizzard server problem, especially on release day.

There is no guarantee to an internet connection's stability, even i played on a BC2 game's server that is about 10km from me with ping of less than 10ms. Disconnects still happens, no matter what you try to prevent it. There are so many factors can affect a connection.

Just because you never really have problems with your TM, doesnt mean other people wont have any problems. I am not even using a Malaysian internet connection these days, and disconnect still happens once in a while.

Besides, i wont play in SEA servers anyway. Too many idiots who love to fly of their bases in SC2 when you almost beat them. They will probably bring their idiotic attitude from SC2 to D3 anyway.

ok.

diablo 3 is a:
online multiplayer action role playing game

and it is playable alone, i.e. you can choose to play it alone, by yourself.

there you go.
the always online thing is justify liao, yes?

i dun love the always online DRM as i had terrible experience with splinter cell conviction's DRM during it earlier days.
thank goodness they changed it to log in once only.

the thing is pple afraid to lost their precious loot when the sudden disconnection comes, unless blizz can implement something like if the loots not pickup for certain time it will automatically send to your stash or backpack ?

i rather the server saves the last location or something prior to your disconnect so when u "resume" your game, u start right back from where u got disconnected.

I prefer this as well. Auto stash loot can lead to people abusing the system. i.e. blitz area x, leave loots on the ground then force dc, next time you log on you get all the loots.

Well, anything is better than the "lagspike and logging back on to find that you have to do a corpse run as a ghost" phenomenon.

if you look at Star Craft Brood War, released on year 1999
Star Craft 2 release on year 2011
12 years difference

if you look at Diablo 2, released on year 2000
Diablo 3 released on what year??

just mere assumptions though

No corpse run in D3. Release and start from the beginning of the dungeon again. (Just like WoW dungeon/raid) Not sure about re spawns tho.
