*
Blizz employees only are called FnF Close Beta
Selected people only are called Close Beta

I know you bought it, but its still kind of unfair to Blizzard, as you are still indirectly supporting those pirates. They are the ones who are ruining the industry.

You know what the irony is... the first Blizzard game I played (Warcraft 2), I bought from *Jack Sparrow*. If it wasn't for *Jack Sparrow* I wouldn't know what a great developer Blizzard is.

I started to like most of my favourite developer's game (including my favourite Battlefield game, 1942) by pirated games, but that does not mean that you could still pirate them til now. Especially if you have the capabilities to support them. I used to buy at least 1 pirated game almost every week from pasar malam, but now, all my games are original, including those short but great indie games like Limbo or Anomaly. Game developers should be paid for their work, if they made a good job with a game.

And the irony is, some of my favourite developers like Angel who made Midtown Madness, Armed and Dangerous, Westwood and so on are gone now because of piracy.
*
haha yeah... I am still pirating tho ph34r.gif. And the only developer I am supporting is Blizzard smile.gif I dont think developers are dead because of piracy, I think its because they sux at listing to their fans, and want to just make quick $$ with shitty content. CnC used to be superb, but the latest one just sux...

If our TM nut can provide stable and fast internet connection then the always online DRM is not an issue but the fact is you know how bad tm nut is, it's quite unfair to user who have bad internet connectivity like us considering that the server is located in the US.....I don't mind they do a data checking/verifying everytime but don't need to always online like playing an online game...
*
dude servers are just over the Johor straits (Singapore) biggrin.gif ... unless of coz u choose to play on US servers, that is a diff story.

Even if the server is at Singapore, but that does not guarantee that the game will not disconnect. Either by Blizzard servers or your internet connection.
*
I m guessing you dont play SC2 sad.gif , yeah i know there is no guarantee. But so far I have no issue with TM or Blizz servers, besides the underwater cables that broke a few years back, I have no issue with TM. But ever since Blizz put servers in SEA, I had no issue with it smile.gif

Even servers in TW no issue. But servers over at US need to go through vpn for stable latency.

Well, anything is better than the "lagspike and logging back on to find that you have to do a corpse run as a ghost" phenomenon.
*
No corpse run in D3. Release and start from the beginning of the dungeon again. (Just like WoW dungeon/raid) Not sure about re spawns tho.

apparently there is no region lock for buying US or EUROPE version. However there is a region lock for auction house ....

seeing as SEA has the fewest player base compared to US and EU; not to mention US and EU people can pay more, does anyone else think this auction house region lock is discriminatory ?

or is there really a valid reason behind this ? Cause i certainly don't see it :/ because if gameplay isn't locked for latency reasons; then whats the reason for region locking auction house ?
*
Currency exchange rates... eg.. I buy an item from SEA AH @ RM100. Transfer my char to US server, I resell it back at US AH @ USD 100. I will profit from the exchange rate. This instead lock the price to the local market. Easier to control.

NA version = North American version smile.gif but for D3 there is no difference in SEA, NA, EU, TW, KR, China version.

QUOTE(raylee914 @ Nov 22 2011, 10:22 AM)
then is that we need to change our Battle.net info to US address in order to be able to trade in RMAH with the westerner or just buy the us set? I am really confused...

or is there any article or announcement that explain the AH region restriction?
*
If I am not mistaken battle.net info will sync their servers every day.

I had previously link my WoW TW to my battle.net acc. I did it through the SEA portal. I had problems login on to WoW that day. So I did some investigation. I found out that if I login to battle.net through the TW portal, my WoW is still not link to it. But it had info about my SC2 and WoW:US. Then I change the region back to SEA, I can see all my other games plus WoW:TW. Change the region to US and the same thing as the TW one.

After a day later I check back at the TW portal and indeed my WoW:TW is there, same as US. And I can play WoW:TW again tongue.gif

So do take not of this. When changing acc info.

Oh regarding your question, yes changing your address to a US address will make you able to trade with "Ang Mohs" provided you can prove you really live there.

doesn't matter if you buy a US version of D3, It will be based on your battlenet account. E.g. if my battlenet account is SEA, then the D3 is locked to SEA for auction house only.

Yes doesn't matter if you got US, Europe or SEA D3, you can play anywhere. The playing part is not region locked.

Auction house is, and it's based on your battlenet account address from what i've heard. Not whether the game you bought is US or SEA.

Hoped that clarified things for you  nod.gif
*
Hihihi slight correction, Real Money AH is region lock, Gold AH is not lock. rclxms.gif
And one Bnet Acc, one D3. Unlike WoW or SC2 where you can have different version of the game link to one Bnet Acc.

that video too long, did not watch.
that guy speak too softly also.

at the moment, my personal belief is that if i buy the digital US version of diablo 3 via US battle.net online store, i will be able to buy and sell on the US auction house.

as simple as that.
*
... too long? rclxub.gif
around 10mins is what you are looking for.

^ thanks for the highlight.

well that sarks.

but i did not see him mention about the methods on how they will "lock down players" to a certain region.

only like, "if a player lives in europe, then he will use the europe auction house" etc.

anyway, maybe them things are not final yet.
*
Ya no mention of the methods they are going to use to lock players down.

I am speculating that by default it will be by the IP address. Some thing similar happen to me with SC2 beta. Before they have the SEA region, they lock me down to the Korean serves. My SC2 beta was in Korean hahah. Made a complaint and I think that is why we have the SEA region now.
http://forums.battle.net/thread.html?sid=5...cId=23766798105
Didnt get any reply from the Korean Blues so I emailed tech support directly. The reply said because of my IP address I was lockdown for the Korean beta test. But since I cant understand Korean the tech support guy, help me by flagging my bnet acc for SC2 Beta US smile.gif

But this is just my speculation.

As for special cases, there is mention at the last part of the video that you need to prove that you are actually living in said country before they can change you region.
