Hi Najmods,

Will CM7 by tj_style work fine with Cherry Magnum? i know that it's still in alpha status and some features are yet to be tested but i'm not sure if i will give CM7 a try unless i have an advise from an expert like you...

Currently running on RC2

Thanks smile.gif

@ Najmods,

I'm using Cherry Mobile Magnum running on RC2, everything works fine except for games. My phone locks up when playing continuously for more than 2 hours.

Planning to replace RC2 with different ROM but i wan to know if CM7 is compatible with Cherry Magnum.

Can I install CM7 to Cherry Magnum?

Thanks,

nekton

Reduce clockspeed if its a not demanding games such as Inotia3, most games runs fine at around 768MHz or even less

Don't randomly download CM7 from other phones, there is one on first post you can download, check Andro-Id site, but it still in development so it have some bugs and problems
*
Thanks buddy.... you got it right but inotia3 is the one thats giving me the lock up issue.. any suggestions on how to improve the performance of this phone? I just loaded the RC2, no add-ons, no-tweaks installed..

From previous pages, i red something about OC, supercharge script and other tweaks. Which one do you prefer?

Thanks for the help

Install SetCPU, and set the max to 768. That could prolong the gameplay but I also experience the graphics corruption and screen goes blank after prolong period of playing this game.

Supercharge tweak is for the RAM usage, you could try that too as its very easy to do

Thanks for your advise... i'll give them a try and give you update... keep us posted about the CM7.... thank u

Install SetCPU, find it at xdadeveloper forum. Taht is call powersaving, it disables WiFi when in sleep to save power, and its not a 'problem'
I don't know, this is my first capacitive phone so I don't have much experience

Which one is better, SetCPU of DoomLord's OC?

You misunderstood what the purpose of both, SetCPU is used to control clockspeed, while DoMLoRD overclock kernel is a kernel been made for higher overclock than tj_style kernel overclock

I understand now.. thanks for clarification... more power to you!

NOW PLS TEL ME HOW TO INSTALL ANDRO ID RC1 ROM?
*
I followed these steps and was able to install RC1.. gud luck

How to update ROM:
1st method:
WARNING: Make sure you have at least 50% battery capacity before continue!

1) Extract the ZIP file, rename the .nb0 file to firmware.nb0
2) Copy the file firmware.nb0 to your SD card. Make sure it is placed in the root folder (not saved in a folder) and turn off your phone and enter bootloader.
3) To enter bootloader mode, press and hold volume up + down + power buttons until you see the image of the Android logo with exclamation mark.
4) Press ‘Home’ key to show the update utility. Use the volume buttons to select the option “Download nb0 from SD card”. It is recommended that you wipe clean/format all the caches before continue with update process
5) Press ‘back arrow’ to confirm.
6) Reboot your phone, it took some time on first boot so patience

so u mean to say that procedure is same for updating csl official rom(gb 2.3.4) and rc1 from tj_style... pls guide me
*
Yup! thats what i did..... here's the steps..

Replace the original Recovery with ClockWorkmod
First Step

First step: Replace original recovery with ClockWorkmod Recovery
1. Download ClockWorkMod Recovery
2. Put the device in download mode (Power+Vol Up) and connect to PC,
and the PC will recognize the device as Removable Disc/Storage open it and you will find FIH > Image folder and select recovery.img, copy it anywhere to your PC as backup just in case if anything go wrong
3. Replace recovery.img in 'image' folder with recovery.img inside the Clockworkmod Recovery v4.0.0.9 you download and extracted earlier
4. Disconnect device from PC, open up the battery and reboot.

Second Step
Download a copy of RC1
Install RC1 using Su 2.3.6.3

DO FIRST STEP FIRST: Rooting the phone
1. Download Su 2.3.6.3 signed.zip and put it in sdcard (but don't put it in any folder)
2. Put the device in recovery mode (Power+Vol Up & Vol Down)
3. Select "install zip from sdcard" and select "Choose zip from sdcard" and search for 'Su 2.3.6.3 signed.zip' and click install.
4. Select "back" and click "reboot system now"

Third Step
Install RC2 Using CWM

Fourth Step
Enjoy!!:)

@Najmods

i'm confused with the steps on how to load supercharged script.. i watched youtube about the steps and compared it to the one posted on this thread and i cant seem to find the step how or when to use busybox...

can you give us link where to download the right supercharge script and script manager. io dont want to sound lazy or something but i followed the steps below but failed. Maybe i have the the wrong tools and script thats why it keeps failing on me..

Pls. Help.....

These are the steps i followed..

Anyhow enough rambling, here's the easy way:
1)Install Script Manager and download V8 supercharger script and put it in SDcard (not in folder)
2) Run Script Manager and select the V8 supercharger script, on the option select 'Run as root' and click 'Run'
3) On select scrolling speed click '1'
4) Next option use option '6' or any other if you fancy testing one by one
5) Next option select '16' to reboot.
6) Upon restart check back whether it is applied or not by running back Script Manager, if it not repeat

You are lazy without even trying, you can get the link and the discussion thread on the first thing you Google. If you still lazy the link is here. You must register there first to download the attached file.

V6, V8, V12, W16 or whatever is just the script fancy names, all it do is managing memory script
*
That's the link where i found the instruction about busybox... thanks anyway smile.gif

Requirements:
1. Rooted Phone. Milestoners, you can use Universal Androot (not in market ?)
2. Script Manager or Terminal Emulator to run the script. Stock ROMs can also use SM to load up boot scripts!
3. Busybox 1.18.2 OR LOWER - 1.18.3 or newer are VERY much a hassle with errors that should NOT be errors!
4. AutoStart Script by me - Enables Stock ROMS (Milestone) to utilize etc/init.d for boot scripts.
